I remeber reading somewhere that the WWI was a novice scenario to ease you into the game. Does it have the same economy/political system as the rest of the game? I'm thinking its almost like a battlescenario of HoI2 but more in depth.

The world is already colonised, so you do not need to worry about that facet of the game. The rest of the game as is. In a way it is a good way to get into Revolutions, one less thing to learn about straight away.

I'm playing China in the 1914 campaign now. I got V:R for the sole purpose of playing the 1914-1954 GC :D
Besides, if I can learn to actually play Vicky from it, all the better. I bought Vicky on sale years ago, and it's been gathering dust ever since. Let's say that HoI2 DD added an extra incentive. ;)

where can I go for Gamers Gate assistance

Any suggestions on where to go for GG aid? Every time I enter credit card info and cvc, I get this:

"VerifyEasy error
Expected parameters missing:
data
currency"

I am not paying with 17th Century Javanese dinars, but cold, hard, evil US dollars from the future. Admittedly, it has become rather a soft currency in recent years, due to some soft governance, but you guys should still accept it, right?

The first port of call should be your bank. The vast majority of problems like this are caused by the anti-fraud setup that banks have fpr creditcard transations.

PI need to finalise the CD version I think.
Ok, a little wait doesn't matter for me, I haven't even bought the DD yet. :)
I was planning to get DD when I the same time I buy Revolutions, but now I'll propably buy it before, so I can spend the waiting time playing HoI with better AI and some other improvents. :)

I've just played my first 1914 scenario game in V:R and it's a great improvement. Struggled along as Russia and was close to beating the krauts back when the revolution stabbed me in the back, and soon all sorts of events started firing. All works out really good and it feels like WW1 will be a good challenge and something I'll play many times in the future. Now to try to sort my soviet russia out, what with massive rebellion and all, and try the vicky-DD converter!

And they can still go on producing the game? I'd imagine not, but it would still be weird if they can continue to sell the units they still have w/o paying royalties. Bankruptcy law is strange like that, so it's no surprise, but if this is what happened to the strategy first version of Vic, it isn't "illegal".

It's probably a case of the bankruptcy laws in question not being up to date with our modern economy, and not making allowances for publishing software designed by other companies with whom you have a royalty agreement.

It could just be the judge who presided over the case too. There's a scifi author who has a deal where any books that have him as the sole author pay all royalties to his creditors. However, if he's a co-author, he gets to keep the royalties. As a result, he coauthors a lot of books. :)

I'm having a lot of trouble downloading the game. I have already purchased it and had no problems. However, they require me to install "Gamersgate Downloader". After downloading the setup file, I cannot run it. I have already installed Microsoft's .NET Framework 2.0 as they indicate (and have already repaired it twice), but the setup file still doesn't run :s

It doesn't run as in you double click the exe and absolutely nothing happens? Any error at all?

Just to confirm you did download the .NET framework 2.0 from here from the left side under the heading ".NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package" right?

What do you mean by "nothing is working" - what error messages are you getting?

"Finalized Error
There was an error and the payment didn't get through.

The most common reason is; incorrect credit card information, insufficient founds or that your card issuer does not allow transactions to other countries, in this case to Sweden.

No money has been withdrawn from your account.
If you have any questions feel free to contact our support."

Thats the one i get, and ive tried my finn Visa electron, My swedish maestro and my internet föreningssparbanken e-card. Now, the e-card worked last time like a year ago.

Hmm I'm in the USA so not sure, but IIRC they have gone through a revamping at Gamers Gate so it may be that the only forms they accept now are payments linked to the major credit card systems, either as pure credit cards or as debit cards linked to the major systems (as most debit cards in the USA are). perhaps fire off an email to their support line (noted above) and see what they say in the morning. You also might want to contact your bank in the morning to see if there is something on their end they are not allowing to process (some banks will block what they consider questionable withdraws made on debit cards).

Yes thanks, these are the proper addresses for technical support. Usually you would typically initialize the setup through the Gamer's Gate Downloader or Launcher.

A typical process would be:

1) Start the GG Downloader and log in
2) Select Victoria: Revolutions in the bottom left part.
3) In the right parts select the only selectable file in the FILES TAB(!)
4) Click on the green arrow pointing down at the TOP-LEFT to DL the fil.
5) Once downloaded switch to the "Finished" Tab and Select Victoria Revolutions
6) Click the now highlighted Green up arrow to launch the setup process.
7) Start Victoria and play. Your Start menue commands are still the same.
