It's a bit strange webshop, didn't accept my Visa Electron which normally works in every situation a regular Visa does since it would've required me to use my bank's internet payment stuff, which I don't have.

I'm glad I could get my mother use her Visa fast

Please note that there is a Manual written for Revolutions included in the new download.

My first recommendation, though I'm sure it will be ignored :

READ THE NEW MANUAL INCLUDED IN THE DOWNLOAD!

It's not hugely long, and highlights some of the important differences and changes that have resulted with Revolutions.

hmm I seem to be having a problem with GG Downloader - maybe? Well firstly I have no idea what language it is using so I cant udnerstand what the windows are asking me, I just sometimes see an english letter in parenthesis like (A) and (C) which I assumed was Accept and Cancel and I've gotten up to the ,NET installation part I think- at least it says .NET right before some garbled text- and then a window popped up which had an option (L) with >> arrows next to it like it's a next button but then everything closed. Ok, maybe GG finished installing? But I cannot find the exe file to run it anywhere, hasnt added a icon to my desktop or program files list.... did I do somethign wrong?

Sounds like you need to install .net 2.0 and your are not getting the proper writing to accept Microsofts EULA. Click on the left button of the two, that should do the trick. (Alternatively You can install .NET 2.0 directly from Microsoft's Site.

I can't get the downloader to work. For some reason the download button keeps being grayed out even when I select Victoria - Revolutions.

EDIT: Doh! Had to select the installer file. o

ive just finished the three steps, i entered in my credit card details, and then another window came up from Visa telling me to re enter my details, they say it is to protect from unathorized use. is it safe?

well looks like I'm screwed! I tried going to Microsoft's web site directly to install it and after downloading it the setup failed. Says something like "cannot create process" then prints out some crazy directory from my temp directory and then says "reason: c:\windows\system32\advpack.dll".

trying the gg downloader installer again and I get to that window where on the left is a button with a (D) and all it does it open up a details window underneath with garbled text, on the right side is a button (L) with ">>" arrows next to it and when i click that the installer crashes.

something must be messed up on my PC and I really cant afford to do something drastic like reinstall windows at this time. is this error familiar to anyone?

Edit: Ok perhaps I might have downloaded the 64-bit version of .NET installer by accident o Gonna try this again...

Edit2: Ok apparantly I had some kind of Beta version of .NET 2.0 also and maybe that's why I was able to run the GG downloader but get that garbled text which looked like another language, because now that I have the proper version of .net 2.0 the setup is totally different and everything is readable in english. downloading revolutions now

Purchased without problems! I wish GG was around since EU1 Now I keep my fingers crossed for the GG Downloader to work as it shows me some crap instead of text which is strange as I have english version of XP Home...

I think I found the problem, the script stopper MrT recommended seems to treat gamersgate not as a whole but as lots of pages that each need to be allowed.

I've downloaded Revolutions but I can't install it :/
Installer says "Unable to find an installation of Victoria"
I've got polish version of Victoria from CD-Projekt
First I tried installing Revolutions on Victoria patched to 1.04 with english patch (there is no polish 1.04) but it didn't worked so I reinstalled the game and there is still the same message.

Those CD versions I have had access to work nicely with the expansion, and we expect no problems. We did not have access to an "illegal" Strategy First version of the game, but we have no reason to expect any problems. If our normal patches worked for you then Victoria Revolution should as well. If you had problem with the patches however you should check with us.

I think the "illegal" Strategy First version comes from the fact that Strategy First filed for bankruptcy, but under some weird American law could still sell their products without paying royalties to game developers.

At least, that's the case with Uplink: Hacker Elite, an excellent game by an indie developer.

well, the development diaries capture most of the big things that are different - new colonization system dependent on tech, capitalists building factories under various government policies, POP splitting button, destroy factory button, addition of fascism, overview maps have been given some tweaks (for ex the revoltrisk map now has different shades of red depending on degree of revolt risk)

Some very cool additional things for modders - lots and lots of new tags as I note in this thread over at the scenarios & modifications subforum

some changes have been made to the initial and daily running costs of political and social reforms (lower initial costs, higher daily costs, some changes in the +/- MIL impact on various POPs)

1914 scenario has been given a major overhaul so that factories start out with equal number of craft/clerk pops, some pop reorganization to make starting scenario easier, militaries and solider POPs are more in line with each other - like what was done to clean up the GC in 1.4

several new interwar naval units added to reflect the changes in naval technology in the interwar era.

And other things that can be discovered once you get the game.
