Moslems had a much higher rate of increase in their population, since a man could have more than one wife. Would this be reflected in game?

Do you mean to tell us that women give birth to more babies because they have to share one man? If anything I would think the opposite to be true. :D

No. Which kind of sucks because I think as Britain it will be kind of weird having Susex population break down as 50% AngloSaxon 10% Hindu 4% Malaysian 7% Chinese...etc.

China's high birth rate was due to the wish of each family to carry on it's name. They where still having 7 sons a family in the middle of the 1980s, and that was after regulations where put on the amount of children allowed. Wasn't until the late 1980s early 1990s that they where able to properly enforce the laws against having so many children. Imagine back when there was no laws about it at all. Can you say I have 20 boys, and 15 girls:eek:

I would think there'd be some sort of limitations as to what people can move where. Possibly that is where religion will come in? Don't know...:)

Interesting? Do they have much higher percentage of girls born? Or those who can afford have many and those who can't afford have none?

Governments tried to keep people from leaving a place all the time. Although it did cause discontent, and there would still be people who would illegally immigrate. It would be pretty dumb to see surfs moving all about Russia freely or Slaves in the United States for that matter.......

I think the game should also allow us to move populations from a place to another, like the Russians did (the Russification policy).

I'm pretty sure it won't be in, I think I read it in the FAQ.

Too bad for the game realism. :(

Perhaps, but I don't see it as a big loss...it's better to be on the safe side and avoid putting controversial options in the game (in any case, there have been topics about this before, IIRC), and especially if they are not too important.

With all those wars and revolts, isn't it a miracle that the Ottoman population remained constant? Do you have an idea of Ottoman casualities during Victoria? ?BS? i don't think so.

EDIT: Bubonic plague, cholera and typhus epidemics that accompanied the refugees from Russian invaded lands caused incredible amounts of death rate throughout the empire. My point is, if you care to take it seriously, moslem men were allowed and very often encouraged to marry the wifes of their brothers if they lost their lives in a battle, so that the wife doesn't stay homeless. This also encouraged population growth. (Wether if you like the exercise or not is up to you but it existed.) Aslo, during the everlasting wars and revolts of victorian era for the Ottoman Empire, hundreds of thousands of men lost their lives. Most of their widows re-married other men, because of this religious tradition and gave births that in christian societies would not have happened.

There might also need to be some connection for foreigners to migrate to your country. I doubt Aprof's Mexico had any Nigerians before he colonized there, but afterwards, they began migrating....

But as always, I await an official response, until the game comes out at least :) then let's all feel free to jump in.

A two way flow from colonies is a good trick... while you are trying to send colonists from your own etnic group to some distant colony, those people flock to your capital... this way you population is balanced... very smart..
