You could have them as the G8
I would say change the name/graphic for the slave POP and use them for forced labour representing both actual slavery and more of the simple forced workers popular in a number of dictatorships.
I would also suggest changing the name of the government type "democracy" to republic as that is more accurate (I think VIP did that as well).
The aristocrats POP could be used both for classic nobility/royalty, and for the upper classes in general. Many son's and grandson's of industrialists own few if any factories, and they rarely build any factories but they are still rich.
Then we agree about the use of the slave pops
But I was under the impression that aristocracy implied that they were noble.. And it would be really difficult filling up a 1k pop (4000 nobles) in any province in Europe.
I was thinking about it, and the term "Craftsmen" are also a bit outdated in the modern world. How about renaming the pops, so that we would have:
Forced Labour ("Slaves")
Workers & Farmers ("labourers" &"farmers")
Middle class ("Craftsmen")
Professionals ("Clerks")
Upper Class ("Aristocrats")
Capitalists same
Clergymen same
Soldiers same
Officers same
Just an idea.. Open for changes
Also found this map on wiki concerning how developed countries are. it implies three different types of countries: Developed, Developing and "Beyond saving"
