I have this same problem, although just disrupted market access. Is the previous post supposed to actually be a fix?

1. There's not enough info there to make that fix. The save file looks like a binary when opened. (In technical terms, unreadable gobbledygook).
2. I'm not a game developer, nor do I consider myself any kind of software developer, but I'm a computer engineer. I know how to code, and I spend my days in Matlab writing or fixing scripts to do my job, and I don't want to look into any code files, or edit them in any way at my house. I don't even open Windows Explorer, as a rule.
I just want to play a working game. I paid good money for it, and you're Paradox, not some indy studio where I might expect to do that, or need a mod to fix things that should be hotfixed.

This is game-breaking. The node is off the coast of Morocco. I've been being France, and colonizing anywhere I wanted to, cause I'm also chasing Belle Epoque achieve. Now every holding outside of Mainland France and that little island in the Mediterranean is reporting bad market access. I'm also at the point where I was building some of my holdings to where they might have infrastructure problems, and I have no way of knowing without clicking through each one whether or not they do or this bug is causing it.

Please fix the bug or give useful official advice on how to fix it. I've attached a save file. The node is from a previous war. This is evidenced by the fact that both conflicts on my screen haven't reached war.

If its unreadable, thats because its a cloud/encrypted save. Save as a non-cloud save. It should be a very large file (100+ mb for mid game saves). If you are doing it correctly, everything in the file is plain text and it can be opened with notepad++ or any other text program.

Your file is 12.3 mb and its definately a cloud save.

I clicked don't save to cloud. It's completely unclear to me how that gives me a cloud save, or how a cloud save is on my hard drive. Please elaborate on how I get a non-cloud save.

Is this bug a known issue? Is it being worked on? Did I unknowingly buy an indy pre-release where I'm expected to modify game files myself, or find mods on the Steam workshop to fix game-breaking bugs?

, i didnt need to do that and my save files are all full size though, not sure why.
Thanks for the instructions. When I started playing the game at release, I was using Ironman for achievements before I found out I didn't need to. I would guess that would alter that settings file to make the save files encrypted/binary. If that's the case, not playing Ironman should probably put the setting to text, but I suppose this is an edge case with the save files, this particular bug requiring an edit by the player to fix it.

Thank you for the reply. I guess I failed to see where it had been reported previously. Sorry, but France is kinda boring. I only want to attempt the achievement once.
