Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
When civil wars break out, including the American Civil War, interest groups in the breakaway lose their unique names and ideologies, reverting back to the default ideologies, including landowners losing "Pro-Slavery." This makes the reason for the revolt disappear the moment it starts, as well as causing other odd issues like a Samurai revolt losing Bakufu, the CSA landowners becoming monarchists, and so on.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Load up America in 1836, cause the civil war by angering the landowners as much as possible and enacting Slavery Banned.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
So far as I can tell this applies to all civil wars, as I first noticed it in my Siam game when the Buddhist Monks reverted to being called Devout and lost Buddhist Moralist. I wanted to double check using the American case because that creates the most general strangeness. It can be especially strange when, e.g, a revolution by buddhist monks to enact theocracy results in a revolutionary state where the buddhist monks (now renamed to just devout) are angry over the abolition of the monarchy.
