Great powers can't create crises ! Except if they are a French nationalist movement in Germany !
Only secondary and lower nations are allowed to use national focusses to start crises, but a crisis can als happen without any nation starting it.
I believe I read most of the dev comments, so sorry if it's been missed, but will there be the release of any unit packs with this expansion?

Actually it's a little easier now; if a dominion there breaks away form its master, Ethiopia has every chance of getting its cores form them.

Great! I've already bought the expansion and trying to decide who to play. Is there any chance that you could say which sprites will be replaced, if it's not still under wraps? Would help in the decision making I think.
Will it be released on GameStop? And if not, will downloads from other sites be compatible with the base game and AHD from GameStop? (I downloaded them back when it was Impulse and thus not as shit

My base version is Impulse and I got both expansions through Gamersgate with no problems.

It increases the maximum number of focuses possible, but the number of focuses you get is based off your population in accepted/primary cultures. Hover over the number of focuses next to you population to see the tooltip.
Not...really, no. With Crusader Kings 2, everyone gets the content. You pay to unlock the content. Opposite to the "expansion" model where you only get what you pay for - everyone has to have the same "expansions" installed.
TLDR: Paid for the DLC or not - you'll still be using up your precious megabytes.
It increases the MAXIMUM number of foci, your nation can have. The actual number still depends on your population. The tech just allows you to have more foci if you have the population to support it.
I think he was talking about having to make multiple copies of the game to be able to play multiplayer with people who have different versions of the game. In CK2, you don't need to do that.TLDR: Paid for the DLC or not - you'll still be using up your precious megabytes.
Of course, I keep multiple versions of each game anyway, because those blasted Steam auto-updates can suddenly make your game incompatible with a mod, so it's best to keep a backup. And then some mods take weeks to get compatible with the newest version. So basically, you're doomed to have multiple copies regardless, if you enjoy mods.
