NEW YORK – February 2, 2012 - Paradox Interactive have today released the first expansion for their internally developed Grand Strategy title Victoria II focusing on the American Civil War era, Victoria II: A House Divided, with a suggested retail price of $19.99/€19.99/£14.99.

From the development team behind Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis, Victoria II: A House Divided introduces a new starting point in 1861 allowing players to experience the US Civil War from the start, from the era of absolute monarchies, encompassing expansion and colonization, culminating in the emergence of the US as a global superpower at the dawn of the 20th century.

Hey, would you like to comment on the price of the expansion? Why do we Europeans pay more?

This is interesting to me because Paradox has always been one of the best publishers out there (for example no annoying CD copy protection), but you are seeing this as fair. Just to say, GoG.com wins this round.

Dollar prices do not include sales tax while euro prices always include VAT. A common question though.

We've had that price for every big expansion we've made.

it is the usual price for an expansion (actually they often are far more expensive). if you don't like that just wait or don't buy it at all. paradox doesn't work for free and the game has to generate income.

Yeah I agree, always makes me laugh when people criticize prices of games (although some are overpriced) given the amount of time you spend with them.
