Don't waste your time. Reality is so many people in today's society have a corporation based version of Stockholm Syndrome (pun not intended). People will often and inexplicably say and do all manner of things to excuse or justify or rationalize the actions of profit seeking entities even to their own harm. It is very hard to even fathom but not even worth wasting effort on arguing. I wonder how the game industry survived for decades before day 1 dlc? According to the "chart" it should have been impossible.

My problem with people who complain about this sort of stuff isn't the complaining itself (although often overblown, even in this very thread) it's that they're often very much like this:

"Game bad! Me no like!" and then most of them still proceed to buy into the game anyway! If Paradox truly is as bad or worse than EA or Ubisoft or Activision, THEN STOP GIVING THEM MONEY!

Starts with 'Cars don't come with options' and ends with the entertainment industry where people are hired for specific projects and then don't have a job once it is done.

Uh, guys/girls/everyone else, can we calm down a little bit? I fully understand that per-ordering games is a controversial topic, but I think this thread is starting to devolve into flaming and strawman arguments, which I think we can all agree isn't good for anyone.

I pre-order because I'm a software developer too and I know how this stuff works. Also, I get a pre-order bonus. Also, I know I'm going to buy this game no matter what.

Preordered the Grand Edition! Been wanting Victoria 3 for a long time and I was going to buy it whether it was good or bad; plus, the remastered Victoria 2 songs sound cool. I will say $80 is a lot to chew, but I wanted to support the developers with making this happen and pouring their hearts into the game to make it as great as possible.

Also, will this be available for purchase after Victoria III comes out, or will it be unavailable like the CKIII pre-order bonus DLC still is?

I don't know if this has been answered already, but the pre-order bonus for CK3 (Garments of the Holy Roman Empire) was made permanently available for free when Fate of Iberia was released, so it took them about 2 years to release it.
