There seems to be a lot of confusion about the Grand Edition and Pre-order bonus.

The Grand Edition will get you:

1. The base game
2. The "American Buildings Pack" on launch day (no details on what that is - though we can guess - or whether that will be available to buy separately on launch day or how much it would be)
3. Four future, unannounced DLC (1 x music pack, 1 x art pack, 1 x expansion pack, 1 x immersion pack).

Pre ordering will also get you remastered Vicky 2 music (I assume in-game, but no confirmation)

Details from Steam:

Grand_Edition_Banner.jpg

Get the full experience of Victoria 3 with the Grand Edition, which includes the base game as well as the expansion pass, including:
  • 1 Music Pack (Release date to be announced)
  • 1 Art Pack (Release date to be announced)
  • 1 Immersion Pack (Release date to be announced)
  • 1 Expansion Pack (Release date to be announced)
  • The Expansion Pass Bonus: The American Building Pack

PreOrderBonus-Steam.jpg

Pre-Order Victoria 3 and receive music from the game’s predecessor, Victoria II. This remastered soundtrack is a tribute to the beloved cult classic, with new versions of some of your favorite Paradox music.

Sorry, I don't have the price grid in front of me. But for £, it should roughly follow similar rates on what we have for the standard and Grand Editions ($49.99 and $79)
So $45 for standard, $79 for deluxe with $55 of bonuses
£42 base / £67 deluxe which looks like roughly £50 of extras

I'll be blunt: I have fears that Paradox will abandon Victoria III after a year like it did to Imperator, which would likely make this my last pre-order. I get that organizationally it may have been necessary in the case of Imperator, but some of the (public) reluctance of Paradox to do Victoria III was due to the Victoria games historically being one of its lower-selling titles, like its Roman-era games, which likely pushed Imperator to get the axe instead of something else. While I hope for Paradox's sake the time and energy invested into development and marketing of Victoria III truly pay off, if some of those fears get realized I hope that Paradox doesn't get into the habit of dumping games.
I think Victoria 3 has a lot of things going for it which Vic2 and Imperator didn't.

Imperator is a weird one, based on what I've heard it must be the best game Paradox has ever made; but I just can't relate to it. With a title like Imperator: Rome you'd expect it to prominently feature the Roman Empire, but no, it focuses almost exclusively on the Republic. Okay, but it does it at least have deep and historical republican gameplay? Eh, idk. At launch it didn't even feature co-counsels (I remember that being a source of outrage).

And aside from the Diadochi (which perhaps should have been the theme of the game) it doesn't really get much better. Neither my culture nor my country are really featured in the game, so I can't play as that, and the game doesn't have any big shiny buttons telling you how cool it'd be to play as the Brigantes.

But Victoria 3 has all of that going for it and more; especially when it comes to being user-friendly.

That said, we'll see how it does. One thing it might lack is meme-potential. The subreddit about stuff CK-players have said didn't exactly spawn from the ability to make Russia literate. Cultural obsessions does seem like a promising addition in this regard though, we just need the tools to make people addicted to bananas.

Bought grand edition, greatly looking forward to it. I started with Vicky/Ricky and we're finally coming full circle with a fully modern Vicky III, that should hopefully get more expansions and content than Vicky II.

I broadly agree, though it's worth noting that continued Paradox 'support' can itself be a double edged sword. I really enjoyed EU4 at release, but I wouldn't touch any recent version of it with a ten-foot pole. Imperator, though, was thoroughly improved before being set adrift.

Also keep in mind that Victoria is one of PDX's 4 "tentpole franchises" along with Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, and Hearts of Iron, so the odds of it getting the plug pulled are likely very low.

I definitely understand why some people are nervous, but I think the the whole Imperator thing has kind of created a really unhealthy level of paranoia among the player community. I also hang out in the Crusader Kings and Hearts of Iron forums, and in both of them I've seen people starting running around screaming "Imperator" and "Game is dead" as soon as we don't get a dev diary for like 2-3 weeks.

Is the Remastered Victoria 2 Music pre order bonus included in game?
This is a good question. The Stellaris soundtrack DLC doesn't actually add new tracks to the game. Is the pre-order bonus like that, or like the EU4, HOI4 and Cities: Skylines music packs that add new in-game tracks?

Also, will this be available for purchase after Victoria III comes out, or will it be unavailable like the CKIII pre-order bonus DLC still is?

Pre ordered the Grand addition. I don’t pre order games anymore, Victoria 2 was my last pre order. But I just can’t resist a Victoria game. This is also the first time that I have bought more than just the base game.

Day 1 DLC, breaking up game arts, files, features, etc at release to artificially create a "premium" pricier version is a (insert expletive here) cancer on video games. It was one thing when premium collector editions included things like hard product...physical maps, statues, etc but this system where we make the game and then prior to release, artificially slice out content like maps, music etc in order to sell it for high piecemeal prices is vomitous.

Edit: Hilarious. Disagreement? Pretty anti consumer, corporate greed kind of stance in my opinion. Would not think my statement was exactly controversial. :)

Guys, you again are misspelling the name of our culture, Belarusian. I see in the live gameplay reveal when you show "diplomatic lens", that you misspelled it as "Byelorussian" - which is as incorrect as if I used "Swyedoish" instead of "Swedish".
I'm pretty sure they chose archaic spellings on purpose

Seeing your avatar, can you please inform paradox about the regional pricing in Brazil? The "deluxe" version is very expensive now here.
Prices were adjusted across the board for many regions, based on inflation and prices from other entertainment services and new games. There was a thread posted here a couple of months ago going into more details about it. You can read it here.

Talking about Brazil specifically, I helped by comparing it to other new titles released in the region and this is still below the average. Now when you factor that many players will get a few hundred of gameplay here (or even thousands), that is a fair price. We also included portuguese as one of the localization options for the game, and that means a long term commitment.
