It can fairly be argued that the last Westminster monarch to rule this island was Queen Anne, who is the last to have withheld the Royal Assent from a bill duly passed by Parliament.

I´m not well-versed in English history. What was the law she vetoed, and do you know why she did it? I´m curious.

Kind of concerned that they seem to have implemented price floors/ceilings. From this image alone multiple goods are at their max of 45 and one at 60. This implies that victoria3 markets are going to be extremely inefficient.
I think that it is meant to be like IRL where people only pay so much for a given good before choosing an alternative to it. The way they explained how pops consumed goods it seemed to be meant for them to take the cheapest available of a category, unless they had a preference for something else. So I can't see how it would be extermely inefficient, would you explain with more detail?

Wikipedia says it was the Scottish Militia Bill 1708, which she vetoed on the advice of her ministers because a sudden change in diplomatic circumstances (involving the sighting of a French-sponsored fleet sailing to Scotland) raised a serious question about the possible disloyalty of the proposed militia.

especially when we have such a great database for politicans around the globe in the 19th century, unlike in I:R, CK and also EU-timelines.
Please tell me who the socialist leader of a petit bourgeoisie-led government in Harar in 1860 would be then.

I personally don't expect for them to give information on leaders of that scope, but at best have a party representative, or representative of an ideology nationwide.

However, considering the political situation of Ethiopia at this timeframe, I think that it'd only be appropriate to generate a character to represent such socialist leader as the movement had negligible presence if any in Ethiopia given their isolationism up until around that date. Making it require an ahistorical development from the beginning of the game up to that date for a socialist petit bourgeoisie to appear, much less garner enough force to seize control of the government.

Im not an Expert for Ethiopian history but if you ask one you might get an answer. I guess in harar 1860 were no real petit bourgeoisie.

Sure we wont find historical persons for every noname country. But thats your reason all europeans, americans and big Asian nations should get randoms even there is enough data to call their politicans? Cant understand this minimizing.

In Hoi4 you can appoint 1946 still Goebbels as Minister even he died historically 1945 - he might died in your alt history game earlier by heart attack 1942 after hearing London has fallen?

That's totally baseless, 45 may be just starting price for these goods

So do we now have a list of all the pop-types?

No, you can see by the icons at the right that the current prices are very high compared to the base price. I do think it's way too early to make declarative statements like he did though.

Well, assume we also have Slave pops (and they ofc. wouldn't show up on the stats for Austria as slavery was banned there)

Those leaders could be randomly generated whereas the ones that we have data on could be pre made, just as in HoI4. Not a terribly complex idea.

There's a difference between a game that lasts 12 years and a game that lasts 100 years.

Just as there is a difference between games that last a century, like V3, and games that last six, like CK3. We have so much information on so many leaders from Victoria 3's time span, and yet we will no doubt miss out on some of the historical personalities that are most responsible for crafting our modern world, like Bismarck, Wilhelm II, Napoleon III, Lenin, Roosevelt, and more in exchange for getting interchangeable 3D models that lack any sort of unique design or personality. It was a bigger problem in V2, where we had nothing for our leader, but it's a shame that it won't be fixed here. As I wrote earlier, I'm very glad that this deficiency will likely be fixed by mods as is the case for many Paradox games.

As this post sounds very negative, I'd like to iterate that I think that the game still looks incredible, I'm only let down by this one part. Not a fatal error by any means.

This probably doesn’t make a huge difference to gameplay, but it would add some nice flavor.

Also, even if we're arguing against determinism, a lot of the identifiable characters that impacted the first half of the game's period, like Bismarck, Louis Napoleon and Lincoln, were already well into adulthood by 1836, so I'd argue their complete absence would be quite conspicuous honestly.

This probably doesn’t make a huge difference to gameplay, but it would add some nice flavor.
I don't think it would hugely impact the core mechanics of the game, but flavor is incredibly important in grand strategy games. For the many history buffs who play these games, historical figures that are recognizable would add so much to the experience. When you Louis Philippe looks like the weird, background character that he currently does, I'd consider that to be almost negative flavor.

Paradox could have an artist use the character designer to make DNA for Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, George McClellan and so on. Add them by event (and change the generals to leaders) if the player makes the right conditions happen. I’m sure there will be a lot of mods for them, but I also can’t imagine Paradox ignoring the opportunities for DLC.

Kind of concerned that they seem to have implemented price floors/ceilings. From this image alone multiple goods are at their max of 45 and one at 60. This implies that victoria3 markets are going to be extremely inefficient.
That implies that furniture, groceries, fruit, and clothing all have the same base price. I doubt that's true.

There might still be price ceilings and floors. I don't think we know enough to say for sure. I don't think it'd be the end of the world that there were, though.

Are those saplings as input goods? I wonder what produce those. Are there dedicated orchard buildings?

I feel like they're trying to make the game more dynamic, and having pre-determined leaders kinda goes against that
and obviously the fact the the people themselves probably wouldn't be the same or maybe wouldn't even be born due to what happens in the game.

"Seeds" maybe? seems a little weird you'd use saplings to produce wheat. Maybe you can divert some of your food production to seed production rather than a specialized building??? Maybe.

Does the state of a pop effect it's ability to perform its job? Like, are starving soldiers going to have fighting penalties?
Also, the video said that pops can decide where they work. Does that include slaves?
