As I said earlier, the pace of those videos is too fast for the content that is being covered. It's just hard to keep up. If the goal is to make those videos sound dynamic and "alive", then you should consider publishing them with an attached PDF with the transcript and pictures.
I've seen Paul's video as well and I would argue that it contained only moderately more details. In fact, it feels to me like those "how to play" and "Victoria 3 economics" videos are nothing but marketing materials with just a pinch of technical details. You can always turn the closed captions on and lower the video speed. I think the videos are good enough as an intro, they cover to the essentials and don’t go into much detail. If you want to check out more about economics, the video with Paul Depre is slower paced and goes into more depth.

Nothing wrong with 'glorified promo material', though. The sort of person who hangs around the forum, watches every stream, pauses videos repeatedly to read every dialogue box and tooltip that comes up in previews, etc., is a small portion of the overall consumer base, and we're the one who are most likely already going to buy the game. A short series of snappy walk-through videos is a nice way to build pre-launch momentum, show off what the features and systems of the game are to newcomers, and to give people familiar with other Paradox games a way to see what makes this game distinctive and how it's evolved since V2.These videos are very thin on any actually important or useful info, they're just surface-deep showcases of features of the game. As ero_sk and Arbus said, basically nothing more than glorified promo material.
If the other videos are anything to go by it should be in a little less than 4 hours.oh my god military guide is late, it should have released 30 minutes ago
I dont know about you, but in my mind the word "tutorial" implies learning material that is supposed to give you useful knowledge. This isn't that. These videos don't teach you how to actually do things, they only show you that some very basic features exist. If you want to show something off, call it a teaser or something, but dont fool people into thinking they will actually learn something useful by watching the video.Nothing wrong with 'glorified promo material', though. They're bite size videos released at a fast pace in the fortnight before the game's release. I mean... of course they're promotional videos? Was that meant to be a secret? What else would they be?
Most people who will buy the game are not obsessively stalking the forums and arguing over DDs. These videos are intended to give a prospective buyer a bird's eye view of what they'll get to do in V3 and get them excited to do it. (And get them to buy the game, most importantly.)
I really feel for Paradox sometimes, reading this forum. Imagine if people complained that Subway ads didn't go into sufficient technical detail about the various sandwich customisation options...

That would be a more than questionable decision considering these videos are quite a bit less informative than a 2 minute read would be - let alone that it'd be pointless. My guess is that these are the videos that are going to be embedded in the game as micro-tutorial videos. They're just releasing them slightly ahead of time because it's a little extra prerelease hype. I may be wrong.

If I want an in-game tutorial on something and a video with 30 seconds of screaming about who's going to tell me about things starts playing, I and, presumably most others, would just be closing it again.
They are called tutorials. And guess what, they're not real tutorials. That's the problem. They're bite size videos released at a fast pace in the fortnight before the game's release. I mean... of course they're promotional videos? Was that meant to be a secret? What else would they be?
