Paradox Grand Strategy - Victoria 3 Pop Needs Tutorial with PartyElite [mX8e5Fy6skE - 1232x693...png

I love nested tooltips, but this is just excessive. It takes entire 4 mouseovers to reach the breakdown of Pop's needs, this information should be much more easily accessed. Imagine you're trying to compare the needs of a few different Pops, it will take much longer than it should and will get tiring pretty quickly.

I miss V2's pop viewer, it showed much more info at once.

It depends on how much this info will matter. Having too much information at once is very confusing and not at all beginner friendly, so if I don’t have to keep looking at this breakdown all the time, it is better to have it nested.

I agree. In this tooltip we're seeing specifically the needs of Japanese Aristocrats POPs working on subsistence farms in Hokkaido. It's extremely narrowed down and it's unlikely you'll ever need that level of detail. To what goods and in shortage or surplus you have the market view and you can also see the needs of entire POPs, instead of narrowing down to a specific industry/province.

If I am not mistaken, electricity could have been traded in earlier builds (Canada AAR), but people were displeased with this, so devs removed this possibility. Btw, transportation can not be traded either.

No, services, electricity, and transportation cannot be exported/imported between markets. Similar to how the narrator said you act as the government in the income video, the word usage is not as technically accurate as it could be.

If I am not mistaken, electricity could have been traded in earlier builds (Canada AAR), but people were displeased with this, so devs removed this possibility. Btw, transportation can not be traded either.
That was Canada using electricity produced in England even though they're separated by an ocean. But non-tradeable goods are only limited between markets, not within one, so that's an edge case where it doesn't work perfectly due to the UK having countries in its market spread all over the world.

Glad to see there are substitutions for products that can fulfill pop needs. However, it means that the market values and number of surplus or shortages won't really reflect the need of pop.

Could there be a chart to show the pops' actual needs in units, instead of products?
