Google. Vic2 Validator or EU4 Validator (it works for all Clausewitz games)
OK. I've looked through it with the validator, and it did find some errors, which I fixed. But now I'm stumped. The validator shows no errors (Other than the ones it would show for a vanilla Victoria 2 install, like invalid nodes where there are none), but I still can't get it to work. If anyone has any idea at all why this doesn't work, or how to produce more explicit logs from Victoria 2 that would be great.

Oh, in that case, I've already checked that. That's not the issue.

I've taken a different approach, now, to try and find out what I can and cannot do. This here removes all tags, except the UK. This also required me to remove references to some tags in cultures.txt and cb_types.txt.

Yes. The great power code, for instance, may require at least 8 country tags existing, or 16 if you count secondary powers as well.

Yes. The great power code, for instance, may require at least 8 country tags existing, or 16 if you count secondary powers as well.

I tried adding in seven more nations, meaning there's now nine tags (including REB), and added back their history files, and OOBs (edited of course, since the original ones had references to no longer existing tags), but it still won't work. The validator doesn't come up with anything, and I doubt increasing the amount to 16 would make any difference, since secondary powers don't have any special interactions with each other like great powers do.

Modding Vic2 is quite finicky, as there're a lot of things that can go wrong. Basically, after any major change, it's a good idea to boot up and check to see if it works.
