The Vic 1 map was horrendous compared to this. Britain looked like some sort of infection.
I still don't like the font but these graphics can't be whacked.
I like the fact that automatic pop-promotion and demotion seems to be percentage based (judging from the numbers visible). That means small or very small pops won't just vanish in a few days but there will almost always be some kind of representation left.
Ah, yeah, the blockiness that screams "Here be pixels" is just so much more aesthetically pleasing :rofl:
Haven't really posted in a while, but the game looks to be amazing from that video. I cannot wait for its release

I can't go back to V1 after seeing the new map, I'll wait a couple of months without playing and battle through the doubtless countless bugs just to play with a shinier new map
oAnd from the trailer, and the DDs, even after my experience with the HoI3 release and initial apathy, I would open my wallet and pay for a pre-order today if I got a bunch of shiny extras with it.
Aw, there are only a dozen or so colors that a country can have, like Vicky 1, EU 2, and HOI 2. (Prussia and Aldjazair, Ottomans and Hannover, Denmark and Britain, etc.)
I liked how EU3, EU Rome, and HOI3 had different colors for each nation. Even if they were only slightly different.

I love that the 4th suggested YouTube clip is some lady showing off her leather pants.
Such a dress doesn't coincide with Viki's morale. Unless one has archieved "S. Freud's thoughts" tech.

I guess so. The composer has already reported in and it seems unlikely they would have a piece of music written just for a trailer.
Wonderful music. I'm struggling to figure out whether it makes me hate the tagline, or love it. On the one hand, that music just doesn't fit the "conquer/rule" tagline. On the other hand, though... that's really the 19th century in a nutshell: cultured people who attend wonderful musical concerts, then get on a ship, sail off to Africa and do that conquer/rule thing.
Wow, that Africa is really bad. I'm on the fence about Victoria 2 but that Africa is pushing me in the "wait for the patch" direction.

Why would waiting for the patch change the setup of Africa? Keep in mind that even if there are no organized states, as in V1 the provinces do have POPs all set up and existing.
Yes Africa had people, but for the most part they lived under systems of governance that Paradox has decided does not fit in with the systems of government that exist, and that the best solution for modelling the colonization of Africa in this period is to model it based on areas that can be claimed by outsiders and turned into colonial segments of empires.
Note that not all may agree with this, including some within the modding community, and I feel exceedingly confident that the wide ability to mod Paradox games will result in mods that treat the state system in pre-colonial Africa differently. But I would not expect any changes via any sort of official patch, as there were no new African state (or any active states pre-1920) added by Paradox in any of the 4 patches or 1 expansion to Victoria 1.
That's a pretty problematic track record for a game about the whole world
