I friggin´ love the map of this game. It has a nice number of provinces, it makes the current EU4 pretty awful.

Please, keep that in mind when Vicky 3 is done - allow provinces to have 2 or even 3 RGOs, but don´t change the number of provinces, or only increase it VERY little.

I haven't read through this thread so I apologize if this has already been brought up, but one thing I consider a "bug" that could be fixed is to restrict adding Wargoals during Crisis Wars, since there is no separate peace allowed in a Crisis War. I frequently see the AI adding their own Wargoals (and incurring substantial Infamy) even though they are at the mercy of their War Leader to actually enforce them -- indeed, as a War Leader I have seen my allies add Wargoals that add to far more than 100% Warscore. It can also be abused by War Leaders adding their own Wargoals and forcing their crisis allies to help with no option of dropping out of the war.

Or at least change the AI to not add their own Wargoals during Crisis Wars. At least human players have the sense to not do something like that without coordinating with other human players.

Any hope for owners of non-Steam versions to obtain the patch? I have the retail cd version.

it is already in the User Modifications section.

Edit/Clarification: patch 3.0.4 is not officially released yet it's only a Steam Beta. What's in User Modifications section is the unofficial, clean copy of the patch. No funny business.

Thank you very much for that, it will sure make me to play Vic2 some more.
Yet...
Do you consider to do something with infamy system in this game? Becouse you can eat civilized nations with millions of people in it left and right and no one cares, or you can annex a few thousands uncivs living on one island in the middle of the ocean, and the whole world will hate your guts becouse of it, purely randomly.
This is, by far, the most irritating thing for me in this game.

PDX isn't going to change something as fundamental as infamy. Such a change would require Victoria 3.

Would it be possible to add the ability to rename provinces, states, and individual brigades? I hate seeing my original troops with their fancy names side-by-side with newly-built units stuck with the default names--and any well-run empire knows it has to "localize" newly-annexed territory if anyone is gonna take it seriously!

There's a bug when annexing countries while they mobilize. If you conquer before they finish mobilizing, or even if occupy a province while they mobilize, the unit will just spawn. In the case of occupying a province it isn't a problem but if you annex a country while they still are mobilizing and have units to spawn the units will spawn after the country was conquered and will remain there forever.

Not sure where to post this but, firing province events in the console crashes the game. Even "event [id] [province id]" doesn't work it still crashes the game.
Is this the case for every province event?

PDX isn't going to change something as fundamental as infamy. Such a change would require Victoria 3.

They've changed it around before. Infamy should just be weighted so the cost depends on what you're targetting rather than what the cb is. Doesn't make sense to have the same cost for a tiny insular province as the cost for a huge state full of people.

Ideally, infamy should be weighted in regard of the population of the state and the ressources that are produced.

Non-optimally, they could perhaps weight it in term of number of provinces acquired but even this possibility seems unlikely.

I'm not sure how they'd do it really, but it'd be nice if something was done.

@podcat Can I download the beta without Steam? My Heart of Darkness copy is from Gamersgate, so I am worried that downloading the beta through Steam will corrupt the non-Steam files.

That makes no sense. You either have thegame on Steam or you don't and in case you don't, then you can't download anything through Steam.
Just as well the expansions have to be on Steam as the base game or all non-Steam.
Misunderstanding ?

If you intend to ask if there is a way to get the Beta without the Steam version, then unofficially yes:
