Does anyone have a link to the thread on Vetran's Homes that explains how the trigger works? I've run 3 searches for it but I'm getting nothing. I've been going warmonger crazy just to pump up my WE in hopes of getting one or two since it's so hard to get Military Tradition as a large nation.

You don't need them, though more tradition is always good. Overrun low tech opponents. Its hard to get tradition from battles, but not from sieging/storming your way across some hapless enemy blob.

Have small friends (a.k.a. vassals). If you send your army into a battle where your ally is already engaged, the tradition from the battle is calculated on the basis of their size, not yours. A battle that would only be 0.1 or 0.2 if you fought it alone becomes 2.5 instead when you have come riding to the rescue of your allies entire army of 3 infantry regiments.

I saw someone wrote that too but in the code up there *points*, there's nothing preventing it to fire several times.

That code is also eight months old

And here is the current version of the code (DW). The only differences are that you need a WE of 5 and you can only get one of them.

Yep, they changed it in DW. Not only can you only get it a single time, but the modifiers are smaller than they used to be. Still handy to have, but not really worth trying to actively farm.

I remember popping 3 or 4 of them in one of my larger campaigns in HTTT as Burgundy. I was practically stuck with 100% tradition for the entire game.
