Here is what happend

My dynastie is King of Aragon (main title) and of about a dozen other kingdom including the Emperor title of Byzantium. When my king died, his 12 year old son inherited, his reputation was respectable losing 0.2 loyalty a month. The kid isn't a heretic or excommunicated or a kinslayer but he has a diplomacy rating of 1. Various vassals declared their independence without resulting in a war. Then a vassal declared war on me (duchy of El Rif) and after that all my other vassals (more then 100) declared war on me except 1.

Is this one of those byzantine events ? That also triggers when that title is a secondary title ? Or is it a bug ?

1311-02-24 : March 25, 1311 : Duchy of El Rif declared war upon us!

1311-02-24 : March 25, 1311 : Alfons Jordan King of Aragon now has a claim on the title: Duke of El Rif.

1311-02-24 : March 25, 1311 : Alfons Jordan King of Aragon now has a claim on the title: Count of Mide.

1311-02-24 : March 25, 1311 : Alfons Jordan King of Aragon now has a claim on the title: Count of Dijon.

1311-02-24 : March 25, 1311 : Alfons Jordan King of Aragon now has a claim on the title: Count of El Rif.

1311-02-25 : March 26, 1311 : We went with He shall pay! in A vassal of ours has declared independence!.

1311-02-25 : March 26, 1311 : Alfons Jordan King of Aragon has received a new trait: Vengeful.

1311-02-26 : March 27, 1311 : Irmantas and Kordula had a son, He will be named Salman

1311-02-27 : March 28, 1311 : Livio and Flora had a daughter, she will be named Berenice

1311-03-00 : April 1, 1311 : Ponç and Riquilda had a son, He will be named Martí

1311-03-00 : April 1, 1311 : Enrique and Dolça are expecting a child

1311-03-01 : April 2, 1311 : Máelcoluim has laid claim to the title Count of Upper Silesia.

1311-03-01 : April 2, 1311 : Duchy of Galicia declared war upon us!

1311-03-01 : April 2, 1311 : Alfons Jordan King of Aragon now has a claim on the title: Duke of Galicia.

and so on and so on

AFAIK it's a byzantine event. Happend to my ally, when one attack you others see the chance to get a bit of your realm. Have a screenshot where all his vassals declared war on him at the same day.

Well then I will quickly give that one title to my last vassal and hope I will survive this onslaught.

And I have learned to never create the title Emperor of Byzantium again :D

Or change the byzantine event. IMO most are to nasty.
And my screenshot is better, the whole screen is full of this "our allies are attacked by".

I could have easily have a screen full of that to, I was dow'ed 127 times.

I clicked most of them away, because I was afraid the game would else crash

You should have made a screenie and posted in strange screenshots thread.
P.S. If you got dowed 127 times and still are strong and got strong again you're a really good player.
Edit: Shouldn't the thread name be very nasty event or bug?

Well I hope to be strong again, I am still at war with all my vassals. I only have my demesne and that one vassal (the countess of Yaik).

My demesne is all I have (plus my king titles), my demesne is Lombardia, Grisons, Genoa, Parma, Modena, Lucca, Livorno, Firenze, Siena and Venice

I am very curious to see what will happen, will I loose all my kingtitles or will I be able defeated all those vassals one by one, without conquering them of course since that would give me a to bad reputation.

Yes the thread title is wrong a little typo.

I think with this demesne you can stay strong enough. Or try to give a useless kingtitle like Byzantine to the strongest exvassal that would maybe would make you loose even more and take it back in a few years. CK is long enough to get losses back.

And if your reputation gets bad to that what I always tell people to: Crusade!!!

To the typo I only found it after some times reading, no problem.

Well it all was over in 2 years. I gave away the title empress of Byzantium to my only remaining vassal the countess of Yaik.

I thought I had some chances against my vassals but I didn't  Not only did my all my vassal declare war on me, but also the kingdoms of France, Germany, Poland, Denmark and England/Wales/Ireland.

When all my armies were defeated I had the luck to have 2 sisters in my court I gave one of them all my remaining duketitles and 1 kingtitle (that of Italy), the other I gave a county and the kingtitle of Burgundy.

I already had an elder brother as duke of Toulouse but he was also at war with me so I couldn't give him a title, but he was the heir to both his sisters.

The war ended with me losing all my demesne except Firenze. I only lost 1 kingtitle, my main title King of Aragon. So now my main title is King of Aleppo, my other kingtitles are Castille, Leon, Portugal, Navarre, Mallorca, Mauretania, Sicily, Bulgaria. My heir is my elder brother, who already has inherited the kingtitle of Burgundy.

My current king is 16 years old now, he is named Alfons Jordan II, his father was Alfons Jordan I. Alfons Jordan II has decided to not get kids (he is married, but his wife is 68  )

All his titles will then be inherited by his brother, after awhile most vassals belonging to all his kingtitles will ask to become vassals again, so in about 10 to 20 years my empire will be rebuilt again.

There isn't much room for Crusading, the last time a crusade was called is more then a century ago. There are only muslims in central mesopotamia, caucasus, parts of Persia and in Central-Asia (Transoxania) and the Urals

Ouch!! But you'll get strong again. Sounds like a great AAR to me. (hoping to read at least one from it's beginning)

That with the heathens is the reason why I let them live in my Russia game, I always attack them when my reputation is bad. :D
Edit: How did you get the Alfons Jordan II de Barcelona name?

By editing the save game. I don't edit the complete names but when I have a ruler who has the same name as a earlier king I edit their names. In my current game I have had 3 Berenguer Ramon (including a character who is already dead with the start of the 1066 scenario :) ), 2 Ramon Berenguer and 3 Alfons. So when I had 2 rulers named Alfons Jordan, I was in doubt should I name them Alfons IV Jordan and Alfons V Jordan or Alfons Jordan I and II. I decided to use the last option.

Now I am 30 years on in the game and I have taken the kingtitle of Aragon back, only the kingdom of Italy is still held by a sister of Alfons Jordan II, but his nephew, the current king is her heir.

The title Emperor of Byzantium is now in the hands of another branch of de Barcelona family.

Also the Muslims have taken advantage of the turmoil, they have conqeured almost all my former possessions in the middle east, so there is room for crusading again :)

Oh I hoped you had a mod that makes such names :(
There should really be one. If I'd learn how to make it maybe I'll do it, but I don't have that much time since school began again and want to make a Lechfeldbattle Mod before.
If anybody could help my with history, rulers etc. I would be really happy, but I can't start anything before Christmas.

No, its a modded term for bishop, bishops in the HRE who where also secular lords, where titled prince-bishops, f.e. the one of Liege, Sticht and Aquileia. It might also be the case with bishops in other lands. I know f.e. that Andorra is even nowaday's partly ruled by a spanish Prince-bishop, that from Urgell I think ?

After 250 years of gameplay it is cool when you get in such a bad situation

I am struck by your screenshot. The ring around your portrait, the orb and scepter around your coat of arms, and the trait icons all look more interesting than what I'm used to seeing. Is that a different look and if so how did you get it?
