Before I gripe, I figure I'll say I love the game. There a million things I like about it.

I can't figure out what is causing these long load times. I have this thing installed to a 15TB NVMe drive I'm testing for work (and having fun with). It's literally one of the fastest M.2 drives on the market. 32GB RAM and an AMD Ryzen, twin 1080s in SLI. Suffice it to say, the box is very fast.
However my load times and general game performance are mediocre at best. I had to tune the graphics down to keep the map from stuttering, lots of framerate drops, but honestly it's turn based strategy so that doesn't bother me too much.
What does get me though are the nearly 2 minute load times. I took a stop watch to it this last time and came up with 1:42. Anyone know of any tweaks I can make to speed this thing up?

Edit: Forgot to mention - I have already tried deleting all my extra saves. Didn't change anything.
