Version missmatch in multiplayer in 1.5.0

So today I reinstalled stellaris so I could play the new version and DLC with my brother.

But so far I have not been able to join him or any other online, He can join others, so the problem is clearly local.
Checksum is the same, 1.5.0 (d050), but the games my brother can join appears to have the checksum (0d3e).

I've cleared my Stellaris files in documents, and verified files. Restarted steam.
It worked fine with the last version (1.4.1), and I'm not quite sure what have changed so that it doesn't work any longer.

I had the same problem but managed to resolve the issue try restarting steam

Restarting steam didn't solve it. Just restarted the PC, and I'm now trying to run steam and Stellaris as admin
+ a new verify

Validation made me fetch 64 bytes, but no cigar.

have the same problem as you. Cannoit join any multiplayer game. Uninstalled it and reinstallad. Restarted PC and steam 2 times. Still the same issue.

All players should do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

If so, we're fixing it now and have posted a workaround in the other thread in the meantime. Let us know if you get different results though.

The super clean install did it for me
