Problems introduced in version 3.00
  • Performance on PS4 has gotten noticeably worse. The game lags and stutters more when moving around and playability suffers.
  • Saving the game ruins the brightness of the graphics. Restart required.
  • Holding triangle button to select path shape no longer works after paths have been moved to the new Decorations tab.
  • Scrolling no longer works properly when navigating the Milestones view and Policies (City Planning tab) view.
  • Icons hovering above buildings now fade halfway underground when zooming out, making them harder to see.
  • Intelligence Agency coverage area efficiency is identical to Police Headquarters. The description of the new building suggests it's supposed to cover a larger area. When also taking into account that the Intelligence Agency comes with higher maintenance costs (water usage), fewer patrol cars and holding cells than the Police Headquarters, then it doesn't add up from a balance standpoint (High-Tech DLC service building).
  • Nanotechnology Center does not attract visitors as well as tourists and the leisure info view doesn't recognize its impact on the surrounding area. I haven't tested all the unique buildings added in the Content Creator Pack, so there could be others not working (High-Tech DLC unique buildings).
  • Semiconductor Plant does not attract visitors as well as tourists and the leisure info view doesn't recognize its impact on the surrounding area. I haven't tested all the unique buildings added in the Content Creator Pack, so there could be others not working (High-Tech DLC unique buildings).
  • Pop-up "tutorials" and warnings don't close when pressing the circle button.
Problems carried over from version 2.00
  • Bus and Tram stops don't always appear in the correct side of the road.
  • Education info view doesn't always illustrate education levels in households correctly.
  • Public transport info view does not display age demographics correctly. When selecting a transport line, there's a mismatch between number of total passengers and number of passengers across the different age groups.

Anyone have a bug after saving that causes the game brightness to increase making the whole map look washed out?

This has happened the last 2 times ive saved and didn't go away until I quit to the menu and reloaded. ( I'm on standard ps4 with no dlc)

Only started happening for me since the update 3.00 along with the lag when moving around the map.

Wait, this critical bug made its way to PS4 as well? This is either hideous QA by Tantalus or poor communication by Paradox, the patch should've been pushed back because of this.

Got the same problem on PS4 Pro, I hope this gets fixed fast because having to restart the game everytime I save is annoying, also happens if you get into the save screen and decide to cancel. This really needs a fast fix

Ok what is this BS? This game has been out how many years now for PC and us console players are experiencing the same bugs and problems as PC players had but have already been fixed for them? What the hell is going on and the shotty work here?

Clearly all they are doing is porting over crap game code to consoles. There is no excuse that we should be experiencing these same issues after they've already been fixed for PC.

The reason why I'm out here on the forums and posting this reply is because I too can no longer create curved pathways or bike trails after the latest patch.

No excuse for this!

I was seriously considering buying Surviving Mars, but if this is the kind of work you're willing to push out to people, NO SALE!

Fix this, and this time don't make us wait four months! Ridiculous

Yep, playing on PS4 and it happens to me too. Auto save and manual save, the game messes up.

We really need to start holding game devs and publishers accountable for pushing out junk like this. Clearly no beta testing being done or just don't care.

I'm not playing this game with the game constantly doing this every time it saves. Complete disappointment and unacceptable. Back in the day when people actually cared about the quality of their work, people would have got fired for stuff like this. I think it's time some game devs and publishers need to go out of business. And here I thought only EA was willing to pump out garbage.

I have to agree, why do we get stuck with problems that also happened on pc and got fixed, why cant we who already get everything later then pc get the fix they had a long long time ago ? Would be nice if Paradox or the console devs gave a response and give us a date for a fix.

So these problems were also in the PC version? That would suggest the game is being ported to consoles in chronological steps, but in that case it's just too bad they didn't wait to release a later build where the issues hopefully do not exist.

But really, some small patch to fix these issues is very much needed right now. I will probably stop playing if they're making us wait a long time for the next full update because some of these problems almost break the game.

Well I just jumped on here to post the same thing Neilson. It's sad a lot of us paid for content back in November just to finally get it in March for it to break the game. This is terrible. Not only are we severely behind but what the heck is this. Sadly I have to say I will not be buying surviving mars. I waited to see how this update was before doing so. At this point I wish we could get refunds on ps4. I really enjoyed Cities on pc and now Im just so disappointed in this company.

To clarify, this pedestrian path bug first came up on the Xbox edition and has never appeared on the Steam (PC) version. Performance and graphical issues are also different to any Steam edition patch release.

Only Tantalus is at fault for this and not Colossal Order, whose QA seems to be miles better. I'm sorry this patch basically broke your game.

Thanks for the clarification but still unexceptable. I played the game for approximately 15 minutes and discovered these glaring problems. So these aren't bugs that slipped trough the cracks, these are issues that either weren't beta tested or the game developer simply didn't care and pushed it out anyway.

I'm really sick and tired of the software industry pushing out faulty functional software with the "we'll fix it later" mentality. I bought the season pass back in November because it was cheaper than to purchase each DLC separately. I got charged premium money for junk in exchange.

No DLC should be released within glaring issues like this and I'm sure Paradox had a hand in it as game publishers usually set and enforse release dates which forces game devs to release incomplete software when it's not ready.

Yeah saw a post saying new DLC, was out, Almost got excited that Mass Transit was coming finally a reason to play again. If I had known they would take this long to release the DLC, I would not have bothered with the season pass. If the new DLC has broken the game, well can't say I am surprised.
