Well I just got started playing the 1.04 NA patch and here are a few things I noticed that were problems/errors/bugs....

Player: USA
Mod: Default 1936 to 1948
Player Diff: Hardest
AI Diff: Furious

Bug Play Issues:
1) UK offerring the USA to join the Allies event. This event does NOT allow you to join if the USA 'War Entry' is not 100% even if you accept. I was asked again once my War Entry was at 100% to join the Allies and it worked fine.
Suggestion: 1) Make it possible to join the Allies if asked even if your War Entry is below 100% ..or..
2) Set condition that the Allies will not ask the USA to join until their WE is 100%

2) Land Lease Agreement proposed works the first 2 times for the Event but the third time I accepted the display gave an Error Message in the 'History Pop Up Box' but the event still worked.....weird.

3) Upgrading Ships do not allow you to look at the stats first before deciding to say "OK" or "Cancel". Very annoying. It would be nice to see if it is worth upgrading.

Play Comments...Not Bugs or Errors:
The USA STILL has too much man power to start off and able to research Techs WAY too quickly. Food for thought :)

Germany AI plays MUCH better now when on 2 fronts. Thumbs up! The Axis is actually a threat now it appears thus far.

Japan AI no longer 'seems' brain dead in regards to Joining the Axis. More to follow....

Follow up..........

1) Event -- The Land Lease Act 'pop up' between the USA and the Allies still displays an Error message in the pop-up box but is does work. This happened again....2nd time.

2) Units -- Not sure if this has been mentioned. Transport planes act as bombers when over their drop zone. You have to manually add one more Providence for the plane to fly past then hit the button to drop the troops, otherwise they 'try' to bomb.
What 'should' happen would be to just fly the transport planes to the providence you want to drop your troops, have them drop automatically (suffer AA fire and fire intercepts if any) and return.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Just go to the build screen and see what stats a new unit of that model would have. That's what the upgrade will have.

Not exactly. For the U.S. naval units an upgrade plateau eventually manifests itself, which prevents upgrading units. In fact, in my own USA game, I have actually found that USA ship upgrades do not work at all. Instead, when one upgrades, he or she is just sucking IC all for naught, the core values never change, regardless of the time or IC spent upgrading. Essentially, it is rather like a strategic redeploy that costs the player money. Whether this bug is merely a corruption of my own game or a widespread phenomenon remains to be seen.

Do the ship stats for new ships match the pre-upgrade stats? It may be a case of the upgrade button being active when it shouldn't be.

USA Ship upgrades do not work

The USA ship upgrades do not upgrade the ships at all. There is no stat change, just a loss of time and IC while the ship is in the build pool.

And, as mentioned above, there is some kind of limit on the ability to add a ship to be upgraded. Not sure if its teh # of ships or the IC amount.

That has to be a bug then. Ships are suppose to be able to upgrade Guns, Radar, etc...but not the Hull and etc... I believe. At least so it says.

Follow up Bug Report:
Same game as before mentioned, Mid 1944.

1) Land Lease Agreement -- Every single time I load up a saved game for this game, the Land Lease Agreement pops up with 2 Land Lease Agreement windows. One is the Error Window and the other is the correct window. The difference is the Error message in the pop-up box and the Supplies -10000 instead of -3000.

2) Transport planes -- In enemy territory you get the option of a Paradrop but in Allied territory you do not. (Additional bug to other bug I mentioned with the Transport planes and Paradrops)

Are the stats the same as a new ship though? If so, that would mean there is really no upgrade available, the button is just activated when it shouldn't be. This has happened with other upgrades in the past.

No ship upgrade

Example: Even with Nuc Ships available to build, I cannot successfuly upgrade pre war dreadnaughts or other earlier models of ships. Even if I choose to upgrade, no change is made to the ship. I end up with the same stats as before the "upgrade". Nor is there any option to select a specific upgrade. I select the ship, chose upgrade and it adds to the queue. I can build a current model ship. This all worked correctly in the 1.3b version

You can't upgrade the hull. a pre-war dreadnaught will always be a pre-war dreadnaught, all you can do is upgrade the radar and target systems.

Trying to upgrade an older type of ship to a new requires you to rebuild the ship from the start, i.e. build a new ship.

That in 1.03b was a bug.

Klaus
