Venice Wins!!!!!

For those of you who really care, I won the game I was playing Venice.

With 40+ years remaining Spain had a fairly strong 1st place(400+ points), but with rebels taking control of provinces(there goes the economy)and losing wars Spain was slowing losing it.

So I tried a different stratergy. I pushed my treasury slider to the right(damn the inflation)and gave it away improving my relations and increasing my points. With so little time left I'm not concern about the inflation.

Then the big boost for me(Venice), Poland declares war on Hungry(my ally). Poland sends wave after wave of troops at me losing all their battles(Poland is land level 6, me...maxed at 52, no contest).

During the war with Poland I ally with Austria, who only has the one province but 90,000 troops.

While Poland and Venice are still at it Turkey declares war!!! More easy points, and Turkey loses big to Austria on a seperate peace.

After making peace all around, I continue to be a benefactor to everyone around to the ending of the game. Venice #1 by about 500 points, France #2, and Spain #3. This is the second game I played to the very end.

Started playing Brandenburg on my way down to playing a small minor nation.

Morroco does sound good. But I'm currently playing Brandenburg, maybe after Brandenburg.

I guess when Spain goes to war with Portugal, then Morroco can take Tangiers and other African territories of Portugal. I'll definitely have to check this one out. Thanks

i thhink you'll find BNB easier to play than Venice. they have a lot of leaders, many good to great and more directions to expand.

But doing this, how did you manage the other sliders (land tech, naval tech, etc.)

Instead of moving to the far right the treasury slider, you could be a loan-giver. Doing this, you could create a good fortune. Try to deal for 25 years deal. Try many at same time. You will have big money! Try small amount each time (10d)

Yes....Venice is a major! Lots of provinces, don't forget the islands. High income provinces at that. A major seaport you know the shipyard thing, and a manufactory to start with.

Hey Rex, my land tech was already maxed at 52 so no concern about that, Venice has a small navy---actually I took Ragusa's navy when I annexed them, so I'm don't worry about my navy slider....I deal with whatever comes from having my navy tech to the left from the beginning. Stability??? Only when I need it. Trade??? I'm happy if I can place merchants. Infrac???? I do up to 5 for the mayor/inflation thing.

and to Morpheus506, I'm still looking for Sibir, where the heck is it??? I've seen them make a come back in Spain once.....where Granada use to be, and yeah, that Breton is cool.

Sibir's capital is Kurgan, and it has the provinces of Tenghiz, Irgiz, Kustanai, and Orsk. Trade maps with Russia, and you'll find it.

Actually if you trade maps with Russia, you'll only see the capitl province. Astrakan has all the maps about Sibir.

Yes, but if you don't know where Sibir is, odds are you don't know where Astrakhan is either, and trading with Russia tells you that too.
