I wonder why Venice was removed from the "interesting" factions to play ... what is more interesting in playing Sweden , or Burgundy?
Venice is much frendlier than Sweden for noobs. Atleast from my perspective.
Well, actually, the thing that bothers me the most when I'm playing Venice and Ottomans DOW me is that my trade ships are out on duty and are going to be sinked. Sure, they can be a tough opponent if you let them grow unchecked.Up to the point of conflict with Ottomans, I guess, at which point it's probably quite terrifying even if an experienced player knows how to handle it.
The burgundian economy is crap? they can run 3 level 1 advisors and full force limit in 1444. That's not crap. They produce decent goods, are in very good trade nodes (though they lack power in 1444) and can almost certainly ally either Austria, France or England.Burgundy replaced it.
I don't think the Burgs are noob-friendly though, their starting economy is crap and they're surrounded by stronger countries that hate their guts.
It's crap compared to France, England, Austria, Spain and even their own subjects. The burgundian economy is crap? they can run 3 level 1 advisors and full force limit in 1444. That's not crap. They have somewhat of a tough start position though since their only expansion routes are France, England or the HRE. You need to find a single opening, but after that you're set. They're definitely interesting though, and offer a nice what if scenario that the playerbase seem to love *byz* but one that is actually plausible and doable in game
Sweden isn't very noob-friendly anymore since the Denmark patch, and if you would take the most noob-friendly countries - wouldn't that be Castille, Scotland, Ottomans, Poland and Muscowy in roughly that order?Probably because Venice is a bit tricky to start for a beginner, having to fight off Austrian aggression, facing the Ottomans, having wrong religion and culture provinces and with most of Italy being HRE territory at the start.
Burgundy or Sweden are more noob-friendly.
