Revolutions in America

I shall be starting an AAR as Venezuela and it shall follow the events and tribulations of this tiny little South American Nation from 1836 to 1953. I will convert the game to Dooms Day when the time comes and continue playing from there.

Game Difficulty: Normal/Agressive.

Goals: (In no particular order)

1) Reclaim lost Venezuelian lands.
2) Build a decent Industry.
3) Achieve Socialism.
4) Spread Socialism to our neighboring nations in South America.
5) Spread Socialism to North America.
6) Spread Socialism to the world.
7) Achieve prosperity.

Victoria Code of Conduct:

1) Any pop, regardless of nationality, shall never have less than 100% Sustiance Goods, except in times of War, National Emergency, or National Crisis.
2) As protector of the people, it should be the national policy of the Venezuelian government to achieve 100% everyday goods for all national cultures.
3) Crime Fighting may never be funded at 0. It should be the policy of the government to always have as little crime buildings as possible, however Crime fighting may be reduced drasticly in times of War.

First update should be upon us within a day or two, hope it is enjoyable!

Venezuela

1836-1837

Life was good for the pops of venezuela, most hardworking Venezuelies were busy in the fields. It is a small, backwater nation, with not much to show, not much to want. Ambition was a fleeting word here, and the people were rich and happy.

Here's a little overview of good ol Venezuela at the start. Stock Exchange seemed the best option.

Luke warm neighbors surround Venezuela.
vnz2_relations.jpg

The budget was swiftly balanced, all citizens receving 100% everyday goods. Our neighbors had lands that belonged to us, but because life was so good, little action was taken. The good kind of Apathathy.
vnz4_budgetclaims.jpg

Halfway through 1836 enough money was made to enact reforms, making life even more splinded for Venezuelies. The hard workers of the Venezuelie Sheep, Cattle, Fruit, coffee, timber, and tropical wood plantations were rewarded for their hard work with the best healthcare money could buy.
vnz5_augreform.jpg

Meanwhile we rank #36 in the Nation, only 20 or so behind these Texans in North America who just lost a horrible defeat to Mexico... Yet our lives were so good. This ranking system must be off!
vnz6_texas.jpg

None-the less our steady research into Stock Market was complete by the middle of 1837, and new research into the Industrial sector of Pratical Steam Engines was researched.

Would life always be this good for Venezeula? Would the tribulations of the world pour over into our glorious, yet small nation of just under 1 million people? Or would Venezeula ride this new trend of Industrialization into the unknown? Unknown, indeed. Only time can tell the future!

Woo-hoo! I'll be watching this! Hope you will update everyday :).

Awsome thanks, I will most likely update more than once a day, depending on how my Soviet Red Army DD AAR readers react.

Sounds incredibly idyllic. Oh well, at some point reality will hit :D

This seems like it has some strong potential to be a good AAR, if Venezuela survives. Ambitions such as it has could cause it to be defeated if it picks the wrong fight with the wrong neighbor at the wrong time.

I look forward to the time when the voting rights are extended to the proleteriat. Seems to be the first-step on the path to world-wide socialism.

Actually, the first step would be to research the cultural techs necessary! :p

Well we don't even have a Socialist party yet, nor the plurality for my people to know they are getting ripped in the elections. However I plan to make a Socalist Party, a very special one (let's just say Jingoism is one of the attributes, a more active type Socialist, per say.)

I once heard a Marine on TV say: "The only way to have peace (which is what Socialists want) is to win." ;)

Venezuela

Peacefull Politics

Late 1830's to early 1840's

All was well for the citizens of Venezuela, and their prosperity continued to flourish under the Conservative party.

Twords the end of the decade, pratical steam engine's were researched increasing the exports of this tiny nation by 20%! MEchanical production was the next goal of scientists.
AARVNZ3_march39tech.jpg

However not all was completely well, some nasty events hit poor Venezuela forcing the government to make some tough calls. Aside from a minor setback in research, more Venezuelits could now read! An opportunty presented its self, allthough very cowardly in the eyes of the world, Venezuela decieded to make friends with the UK, who might make a great ally if any of our warmongering neighbors decieded they wanted to take what was not theirs. Unfourtunatly, this massive boost in relations came at another price besides prestige. Shortly after the U.K. Smuggler incedent of 38', Columbia had a minor border dispute (I can't remember the actual event). In order to lose no more prestige Venezuela was forced to injure their relations with Columbia by 100, and gain 1 prestige.
AARVNZ2_events.jpg

Venezuelaits were distracted only for a few moments of this international piddly, as the infamous election of 39'-40' took place.
AARVNZ4_preelectionnov39.jpg

Clergy, secretly wishing to restore the monarchy of old, have always vowed to represent the working class, thus taming the uneducated and uninformed masses. However nearly the entire working class population wished for a conservative government.

AARVNZ1_pops38.jpg

But it was not to be. Despite the prospirity of Venezuelaits in recieveing everyday, substance, and venturing ever so often into luxury goods, the Clergy, under the corrupt "Landed voting" system were able to pull off a liberal election victory... more of a coup.

AARVNZ5_postelection.jpg

Notice the clippers comming in, as well as Venezuela reaching 1 million in population!

Needless to say the Clergy sealed their fate, no longer protected by the Moralistic nature of a Conservative party they were sent to the fields, a first step in freeing the minds of Venezuelaits everywhere.

Afterwords a second election was held and the Aristocrat(s) (lol) brought the Conservatives back into power. However this misreprestation by the Clergy still angered the masses, and the damage was fixed, but not forgotten.

AARVNZ6_popspostelection.jpg

The corruption of the flawed Landed Voteing rights was indeed not forgotten, especially by a man who would, in the comming decade, be known simply as V.

None-the-less Venezuelaits continued to work hard, and their work paid off. In the early 1840's many inventions gave way to marvelous new ways of working the fields and timber plantations across Venezuela. Exports jumped 300% from 3 years ealier.
AARVNZ9_inventions42.jpg

By 1842 Mechanical Production followed by Free Trade were researched, giving way to research into Idealogical Thought. Such thoughts can be dangerous, or life saving, especially in the hands of people like V.

To be Continued... =)

I've attempted twice at around 150 relations. Wonder why they won't ally? The UK alliance attempt is sort of a guarentee of... independence, however political strfe, i feel, will be the focus of Venezuela's pops in the upcomming years. =)

Venezuela

Mid 1840

The Early History of V

V

After the election scandle of 1840 V, a young man of 18 left Venezuela partly in disgust at the political situation of his homeland, but also partly to see the world, and to study abroad.

He traveled to the United Kingdom, a declining Imperalistic empire, seeing far worse corruption than that which had confounded his home nation, corruption that had spread to China and the United Kingdoms Imperal holdings as they waged wars against nations with little chance. Here he studied for two years, traveling twice to mainland Europe, to France, and to Prussia whose agression against it's Danish neighbors had left its mark. Everywhere he saw far worse conditions compared to his homeland. "Great Powers" indeed.

In his travels of Europe he met and befriended many liberal professors and academics. They discussed many issues openly and with vigor. He also discussed and took a strong liking to many of the newer "Socialist" academics. At the end of his two year stay in Europe, his discussions with the liberal (and socialist) figures inspired V to write a book, one which he would write on his multi-month journey to the "heart" of Democracy, The United States.

Here he found corruption, masked by propaganda as the United States waged wars on it's Western Fronteer, all in the name of an Idea, somthing like manifest destiny. However, here he completed his studies. His book was now finished, and he sent it ahead to his grandmother in Venezuela for safe keeping, with orders to await his arrival. While a clipper could have him home within a month, he would not take one directly home.

He would make a pilgrimage through the battlefields of Mexico, past the quickly deteriating States of Central America, across the jungles of Columbia, and finially making a year long journey to each of the Capitals of South America, finially making his way back home.

Each place he visisted he found the same corruption that had shaken his home land, and far more suffering than he could have imagained. Upon arriving home he vowed that he would find a way for all Nations to live together in prosperity.

This is what he saw...

At First, in Europe he saw Greatpowers, meddling, fighting, struggling.
vnz7_patheurope.jpg

When he reached The United States he saw more of the same. Manifest destiny. Corruption. Lies. Deciet.
VNZ8_pathusa.jpg

As he traveled through Mexico and the States of Central America he saw more strife, more struggle. Nations became nameless to him.
VNZ9_pathSA.jpg

Finially he reached the nameless nations of South America. He knew what he must do.
VNZ10_pathSA2.jpg

When he finially arrived home, he felt more connected with his homeland of Venezuela, more so than any person in the entire world. He revised his book his grandmother had saved for him. He now had a title, as well as a message that would sweep the globe.

V for Venezuela
Venezuela for United American Socialist
United American Socialist for the People

It's always good to have a purpose in life... ;)

Let the comunist truth be salvation for your people and people of the world.
