I think that many of the problems people are having with vehicles atm would be solved if the vehicles/armour would just take a few seconds to even start rotating their hull or targeting an opponent.

This would make ambushing with AT squads more effective as well as flanking with other vehicles.

I think that vehicles/armour should also (maybe on a case by case basis) have a slower hull rotation speed and acceleration in general.

Tanks don't need to see anything to face a threat, the game engine lets them know where every unit is at any given time. Keep a close look at your tanks when playing a match, they will turn to seemingly random directions when left alone, and if you follow a straight line from the front of the vehicles you will always find an enemy unit.

Herein lies the problem. Sherman's getting flanking shots doesn't work very well in these circumstances. Getting flanking shots is not the easiest on some of these maps either, so when you do get them you should be rewarded not killed.

So the solution is really in two parts: 1. make it so the tank only faces its armour towards the unit it is currently attacking (otherwise it should stay in the direction the player left it) and 2. slowing the reactions and turning speed down as per the op.

Seems like this auto turning also provides information to the player that they should not have too, which makes it even more important to fix.

One thing that would help a lot would be making infantry AT shoot effectively instantly.

Tanks don't need to see anything to face a threat, the game engine lets them know where every unit is at any given time. Keep a close look at your tanks when playing a match, they will turn to seemingly random directions when left alone, and if you follow a straight line from the front of the vehicles you will always find an enemy unit.
This is pretty much the entire reason, even when moving down roads you can see turrets pointing at random directions, that's where the enemies are at. That's why there's no turret traverse time needed, they just point at random bush until suddenly they "see" an enemy tank at the exact spot.

Considering the game engine already keeps track of whether a unit is spotted it seems like a weird conscious decision to have this be a thing.

I agree with the auto turning problem (can even be exploited) and the need of slower rotation.
The game need to reward positioning and good ambushes.

Also i would like us being able to rotate our units while keeping the right mouse button pressed.
