I am playing the Ottoman Empire, and Lithuania just accepted vasselization on a war score of 72 (the negotiation screen said this is worth in excess of 300 or even 400). Its war capacity had, however, been worn down to zero.

Is this a glitch, or is the AI willing to accept vasselization in exchange for no loss of territory? (A score of 72 is worth a few provinces, and it's high enough to cause a loss of stability if the country doesn't surrender at least one.)

Put it this way, in one of my games as Aragon I ordered, just for a laugh, the vassalisation of morocco when my warscore was 0. They accepted.

I'd taken out their allies, but the deciding factor I think was their war capacity, it was at 0%. I think peace treaties depend more heavily on the countries war capacity than anything else.

Either that, or it's just a glitch, which is more likely to be honest.

You should read the AAR: The Sultan of all Sand Castles, there you´ll see the vassalization of the Mameluks by Khorazan, a one province minor, after occupying two unfortified provinces with one regiment. It´s a bug.

Yes, way too easy, and not historical :(

In my game Sweden accepted a 160ws vassalisation offer despite occuping Norway, and having 100% war capacity and 3x my army. The only real reason I can put to it was tehre king was 3-everything.

Paradox devs have confirmed it as a bug, so hopefully it will be fixed in 2.2. Best thing you can do at the moment is just to not ask for vassalization unless you've soundly beaten them, and never ask for vassalization if the required score is > 100% (the way it's supposed to work).

In my Knights AAR I was forced to abandon it after I vassalized Castille and the Malmuks with the Knights (3 Provinces). This left me with an unrealistic and unfun game to write about. I only tried because I didn't think they would accept.

At that point you say "and Grand Master de Villiers woke up and chuckled about the fanciful dream", load pre-unrealistic-vassalization period, and continue from there.

AARs are a story as well as a report, I think, so it's alright to reload and redo things if they go outta whack which they do to some extent in all P'dox games.

I thought it was a result of relative war capacity when (as OE) Ethiopia agreed to vassalization when it required score of 106%.
I will try to avoid the "easy button" from now on.
