I know that this is an old problem, but I recently ran into it again: When you conquer a duchy, and some counts there have special contract rights like guaranteed council seats or title revocation protection, they get to keep these even after being conquered. And you also can't change it if the contract has already been changed by the previous liege. This is stupid. I never agreed to this.

My suggestion is just this: When a vassal changes lieges because of being conquered, they shouldn't get to keep their special contract options.

Historically, these contracts were very much a personal matter: it was not between two positions but two men. Upon the death of a party, a new contract would have to be established with their successor. This would be a hassle to do in-game, so I'm fine with simply keeping the predecessor's contract, but if a ruler acquires a new vassal through anything other than succession, said vassal should start with the default contract options.
