Vassals giving military access fills me with a blinding rage

You know, this genuinely wouldn't be so bad if there was literally anything I can do to get them to stop.
I am literally so close to getting my peace deal exactly how I want it but now because I didn't put Athens on scuttage, I risk having the whole war upturned.

I tried changing subject focus, tried making Moldavia hostile, I tried getting access myself so Athens would cancel it to avoid redundancy, and I even tried purposely making Athens disloyal but to no avail.

I get it, this is a unique issue but it really is infuriating.



(To clarify, the Ottomans are at war with Imereti and Theodoro so they have a complete corridor over to their other side.)

I mean you named it yourself, put them on scutage and they can't mess things up like that. Of course it doesn't much matter because your allies will do the exact same thing and if the ones on your side of the war don't the other side will as well. The real issue is how ridiculously easy it is to get access.

Military access and forts zone of control are the plague of this game, I really hope they fix these for their next EU

Conditional military access is, as @Blust says, a scourge. They should just remove it and retain infinite diplo slots for mil access, but remove conditional. That way, the AI wouldn't be blocked by diplo relations, so it can still spam requests, but nations that would say no actually will say no.

Even better idea... military access cost 10% of yearly income instead of diplomatic slot.... hmmmm should i post that in suggesstion forum?
