In the past releases, any fighting a vassal does, is done in its owners name.

(ie Sicily, my vassal, will seige a prov and once its held it will say its held by my country).

One change I noticed in HttT is if i am at war, and my vassel takes control of a prov that it has a core on, it will hold that prov in their own name and not yours. Meaning if i peace out and choose to take that prov in my deal, it will go to my vassal extending their size.

Anyone else notice this? Is this new to HttT?

Ive never noticed it before...

Hadn't noticed... But I personally like it. I really enjoy having vassals... especially ones of a decent size and strength and ability. Always nice to sit back and let my minions do the heavy lifting lol.

Noticed this in my war against austria where my vassell Savoy reoccupied their lost province Nice. In that case I was perfectly fine with them getting that province back, but I can see me getting slightly annoyed at other times. But if they have a core, well go for it my little minions!

That's something I didn't know yet. I'd love it, except I suspect it still gives YOU the infamy. Am I right?

On a related note: Did anyone else get the second to last HRE decision and just stop? Seems so much more Imperious to simply destroy nations by decree (DoW, in this case), rather than having to muck about yourself.

And was this in 1.3 as well? I could almost swear that when my vassal takes a province he takes it for himself, not for me. I once remember even accidentaly giving Normandy (my vassal) a province in northern Aragon (so definitely no core) in peace deal because the colour of stripes showing who controls the prov were quite similar to mine and it wasn't until after the war when I realised that it was actually them owning the prov not me

It is new in HttT. Nations in a PU with you can also take territory on their borders.

This is a bit problematic as a coastal nation like Portugal will consider any coastal province (i.e. like the ones in France) part of its "borders".

And was this in 1.3 as well?

No. The earlier responder was incorrect is saying "in past releases". Having vassals and junior partners take provinces in the overlord's name was added in IN.
