Vassals and War

Is it possible for vassals to declare war? In my game (and AAR) as the Knights, Castille, my vassal, keeps declaring war on Granada (even when we have a truce from the first time this happened, so I decline and get 7 badboy!) and then the Berber Kingdoms declare war, and its a mess. Am I missing something here, or is it just like a MMG event?

MMG has various events that will make vassals declare war, and the vassal can also get into wars if it is guaranteeing or warning anyone.

after your vassas guarantees and threats need renewing, they will not start or get involved in other wars. and they wont have the option of too much foreign diplomacy outside of their overlord.
