Vassalisation explosion in 1.07 version

I have downloaded the 1.07 patch and started my first game with it. It is only year 1517 and besides of the original vassal countries, the following countries have now been vassalised by computer controlled powers:

Cologne, Kleves, Baden, Saxony, Hannover, Brandenburg, Würtenburg (later peacefully annexed), Thuringia, Moldavia, Crimea, Tunis, Hansa, Modena, Savoy, Switzerland (also peacefully annexed) Navarre, Lothringen and Sibir.

This to me seems to be too many to be a coincidence. I don't see any about vassalisations listed in the read me file for the patch, so what is happening? It is not very fun to play when half of Europe is vassalised.

yes- that is the first thing the programmers would (hopefully) address when making 1.08; vassalisation has gone way off balance. There is more on this issue in the FAQ section.

Unfortunately, although the 1.07b patch fixed the most pressing problems of the 1.07a patch, it also made it easier for countries to vassalize other nations. This results in out of control vassalization in all 1.07b games. I'm sure this will be fixed in the next patch.
