Vassal Tribute

Hello,

Playing Trebizond and got myself a 1 province Georgia and a 2 province Circassia vassals.

Both forcefully vassalised and they hate me. I'm cash poor and see that they don't give me a dime of tribute. Is it because their liberty desire is too high or they are unloyal (for having their relation too low?)

Vassals will not pay you if they are disloyal. Having low relations or high LD can both make them disloyal. Fix those and you're OK.

If I turn them into marches will I get around that disloyalness conundrum?

That will help but they won't pay you at all. Their armies will be a little more useful, at least.

Marches pay no tribute at all but have a better army. They also cannot be integrated unless being turned back in to a vassal first, which will anger them. I only make marches where I intend to never integrate, but they can be extremely useful.
