Vassal Doge approves the Tax Exemption law?

What exactly does this mean? He's still paying me a decent amount of taxes (I think).

I didn't see anything new added for this in 1.07/b, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't in 1.06. This is vanilla (except Patrum Scuta).

I'm pretty sure tax exemption is feudal tax not city tax, which is why he approves it, means his barons don't have to pay taxes. I seem to get this message often when I've conquered muslim lands.

Correct. Tax exemption is the formal name of the no tax law for feudal vassals. I'm guessing that whomever held that land before, they had a different tax law.

Okay, thanks for the clarification (I did have Small Feudal Tax before granting it). I wanted to make sure there wasn't like a ninja nerf to doge vassal taxes.
