Hello everyone.

I played for a little over an hour this morning as Castile, and I noticed that my chances at vasalizing both Portugal and Aragon was set at impossible.

I have 200 relations with both, I am allied with both and have royal marriages with both. Is there a new feature that makes Vasalizing harder? Do I need to have twice their land or something to do this now? Well, thanks for any help. Can't wait to get off of work and play some more.

Nations with >3 provinces can no longer be diplo-vassalised.

If thats right, thats an incredibly huge, feature-breaking change. I mean, cmon. Diplo-vassalizing 30-prov nations was sometimes a bit much, but 3 provinces is tiny. I cant believe something like that wouldnt have made it in the manual...

Yeah, diplo-eating your neighbours was a wee bit easy in NA. It makes sense if Paradox changed the mechanic to take into account prestige, relative size and armies. Become a vassal of an empire with a standing army of 150.000 soldiers is probably a great "honor" compared to having the same suggestion from one with 1.500 soldiers :)

Definitely agree, "diplo-unifying" my religious group was what the first half of all my games was about in NA, along with colonizing the rest. This being said, I would strongly disagree with a hard limit on diplo-vassal size if it was as small as three provinces. IMO any limit should be relative to your own strength.

It's a very good change. I once got whole Germany as my vassal and even diplo-annexed them as France. It practically ended that game. I didn't want to look at it anymore.

I really hope the hard limit isn't true. If it is, how are we supposed to create Spain peacefully? It's just not very historical and seems very arbitrary.
