So, I'm sitting around on my Habsburgs waiting to blob out after revoking non-appeal, and having stupidly enforced religious unity a bit too strongly, I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait for roughly 50 or 100 years to get my relations up

Then all of a sudden, wham, it all disappears.

Is there some sort of end date for enforcing unity over and above the decay that happens naturally?

Thanks

There's no more excommunications, crusades, or enforce unity after 1650

-edit : oh, you mean the relations malus. I think that's set to disappear after 25 years no matter how high it got, assuming you don't refresh it before then

yea:

opinion_enforced_religious_unity = {
opinion = -25
years = 25
yearly_decay = 1
}

Decays at 1 per year but all accumulated opinion vanishes after 25, as long as you haven't enforced it again since.

The same thing happens with any number of opinion modifiers. Such as the penalty for vassals when you annex other vassals. If you annex a long string of vassals and build up like -180 on one you've kept around, it'll go away in 20 years if you don't refresh it.
