Vanilla achievements aren't working?

Playing on Ironman, no mods, not random/shattered world. When I load the game and hover over the ironman icon, the tooltip reads: "Achievements: Enabled."

But I have an achievement that is not firing: By the Gods (theologian trait). So there's nothing technical that I'm missing. What could the issue be?

EDIT: the achievement is to 'gain' the trait, but perhaps my character already had the trait and I didn't notice it?

i think that one only fired for me when i got the trait through the theologian lifestyle. other ways to get the trait were added later to the game. i think you could get it from monastic society events and it think also from the hermetics but those other ways don't trigger the achievment. at least that was my conclusion when i finally got that one

Ahh, I had the theology focus but also had joined a monastic movement so I didn’t know the source of it.

I should also note that when I first posted I was confused that I didn’t have the Yes Men achievement trigger since I had all loyalists. but the wiki said I needed to have a fully empowered council.

i think yes men also takes the advisor slots into account. so as a king or emperor it can only fire when you have an empowered council since abolished council disables the advisor slots altogether and they can't be filled with loyalists when they don't even exist.

I got an achievement yesterday, NuPDX games somethimes need to be reinstalled if Ironman dont work.
