Apologies for the delay in the next update. I'm working on it, but shift changes at work and real life issues have been both a blessing and a curse.

In the meantime, here's a cute unicorn picture, courtesy my two-year old daughter.

No worries. Take all the time that you need. As someone who's on the road more often than not these days, I know all too well the mixed blessings of a last-minute schedule change.

I can certainly see where the inspiration for the Unicorn Prince most likely came from ;)

I can certainly see where the inspiration for the Unicorn Prince most likely came from ;)

Schedule changes, dealing with family issues (not anything serious, just monthly maintenance sort of things), other extended family issues. I haven't forgotten about this, however. I've also got a side project related to this, so it's in my vested interest to continue.

We're always willing to wait as long as the result will be worth the wait. I'm sure it will;).
And in the words of the unicorn from the picture, "I bless thee to be lost in three years."

Hopefully so! Admittedly events might be a bit of a slump after so much happening in so short a time, but then things will pick up again.

I like the way horn looks on those two unicorns

My daughter says the bigger one is the mother.

My daugher would highly approve of your daughter's unicorns

We got the smaller one for her when it was on sale at a local grocery store. The bigger one was a gift from one of her uncles.

This was amazing! One of the best AARs I have read in a very long time. I particularly enjoy your vivid, haunting dream sequences, as well as some of the amazing character work you do. My favourites are Rheana, who is incredibly sympathetic character and it tortures me just how much trauma she endures over the course of this story. On the other side of the spectrum, Hugh Hammer is the most evil character I've read in an AAR in some time, and you do a fantastic job making him seem feasible.

Anyway, I just want you to know that this story has inspired me to finish first my novel, then my old AAR which I have left unfinished for too long, and then start another AAR. Thank you so much for showing me once again how much you can do in this medium!

Alright, listen up, dawgs. I'm still alive. The ninja frogs and killer potatoes (also known by their pseudonym "real life issues") tried to undo me, but I still live. I'm off my third shift, got a normal job, and took care of a few emergencies that distracted me from writing this.

However, everything is still good. Still have my screenshots, still have my save file, still have what I've written so far. So if you think this AAR is dead, guess again, suckaz.

Please continue this masterpiece, i just signed up for your AAR

I will, fear not. And welcome aboard! Glad to have you here!

Fantastic characters. And hopefully a more peaceful realm.

Though making sense of the AI's decisions can certainly be a challenge.

You are right about that. With a straight up AAR, it's easy because you can just say "LOL DAT AI, THO." With a narrative AAR, you're forced to explain why something like random rebellions or peculiar decisions. That will especially become more plain later on in this AAR.

On the plus side, when the AI does something drastic, it gives you a chance to write something memorable. (For example, the "Dragon Forest" chapter in this AAR.)

I'm really, really flattered how much this AAR has inspired people, to the point that it's multiplied the number of AARs in the community. As my wife will tell you, I don't think that highly of myself, so hearing this really does make me feel like I'm contributing something to the community. To be told that I'm showing what can be done with this medium tells me it's definitely worth pursuing.

The dream sequences were indeed fun to write, and though they're not related to any even that happened at that time in the game, they all do hint at things that will unfold in the game in the future, both near and far.

As for Rhaena, I'm still surprised how much attention she's gotten, but I guess that shows I do a good job writing not only her, but female characters in general. And as for Hugh Hammer... yeah. He was a mixed bag. On the one hand, it is fun to write a villain that you love to hate... on the other hand, ya gotta write that stuff. My wife was horrified by the line where he threatened to have his men rape Rhaena one at a time.

Any way, welcome aboard, and I hope you enjoy the future updates!

Hooray!:) Good to know that we'll get more of your incredible content, even though I don't catch up quickly and am only on chapter 8... I know very little of the real Game of Thrones, but this AAR has sparked an interest, at least in your version of it.:D

On the topic of favourite characters, I don't really know if I have one yet, but Andrian in chapter 4 somehow stood out to me. Maybe it's his tragic-comic fate -That he wished to meet widows, but instead found himself spiritually trying to save children and giving advice to older priests...- that makes him an interesting character.;)

I'll have to change the chapter header to include it.

Which reminds me of long, long ago, during the Hearts of Iron 1 days, when I first joined this forum. Someone did a Hearts of Iron AAR where they changed their nation's flag to something with a cute little caterpillar plushy.

I have been around AARs far too long to count any as truly dead. At worst they pine for the fjords.

"Why pine for the fjords? Why not oak or hickory for the fjords? WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?"

Yeah! He's back and he's writing some stuff, we missed you here and you'll need to catch up on many AARs and awards. Welcome back:D.

I will, yes. Wait, did I win more awards while I was away?

Still at chapter 8? Oh boy.

People like Andrian it seems. He's like a tamer version of Dermot.

I mean, I'd doubt the moral compass of anyone who wasn't horrified by Hugh Hammer in general.

"Mystery Date #2, what do you think about Hugh Hammer?"
"Well, I mean, I think he was doing what he needed for his people and-"
"Ooookay, Mystery Date #3..."

And Martin in disguise is back, ladies and gentlemen. Glad to have you back Keiper ;)

Don't say that. I'll never finish the next chapter then.

If it wasn't for the fact that I can never seem to finish the paltry AARs I've started (something I've learned my lesson from), I'd say you've certainly inspired me to get back into the rich lore of ASOIAF, as well as the AGOT itself. Excellent AAR, very well written and a blast to read! I've especially enjoyed your portrayal of Hugh the Hammer, lore-wise he was a traitorous scumbag, and in this AAR you've certainly upheld his black stain of a legacy (congrats?). In all, I'm eagerly looking forward to your next update!
