Valkyrienet Shutdown

I got Hearts of Iron Doomsday about two weeks ago and I never tried to get online until today. I have been going through solution after solution but nothing is working. I go to Multiplayer and click on Valkyrienet, shows the lobby for about half a sec, then shuts down.

Help would be appreciated.

Hey!
Not sure what could be holding you up! I would try reinstalling the game. I know quite a few people who have problems playing MP, not sure exactly what it is. Good luck!

I bought it off Gamersgate.

Redownloaded it once, reinstalled it twice, did a straight connection to my computer, entered DMZ mode, and opened up ports/port triggers.

Every time, shows up for a half sec and shuts down. I am behind a Linksys router by the way, but I don't think my router has anything to do with it since I couldn't do it with a direct connection from my modem to computer.

any goofy firewalls on microsoft applications that would still be up? or from old security devices?

The only firewall I have up is Norton but I had turned it off to see if it worked.

Wouldn't you know it? It didn't work! Still I appreciate the help and would like to see if more people have more ideas and maybe one solution.

I had trouble downloading the Armegeddon version from gamers gate. It was confusing and I think I downloaded it twice (billed twice?). Then the new version wouldn,t install over my DD copy??????

You mentioned Norton Firewall. I assume you have Norton Internet Security or AV. Thts your problem right there bro. Symantec programs are not fit to be wiped on my backside.

Get Rid of Norton and everything to do with it off of your PC> get AVG. www.free.grisoft.com

Doesnt cost a cent and it is THE BEST AV available.

Chances are Norton has allready screwed your PC over so youll probably have to reinstall it.

Also you need to check in the Windows Firewall exceptions to see if you have "allowed or unblocked" the game. Even if you are not using the Windows firewall it STILL must have an exception for the program.

Check SP2 is running ok, (assuming you have Windows XP ,SP2 is a must).

In short Nortons is your problem, if you comleteyl remove it and still have problem, reinstall your PC...... Nortons is crap do not argue with me

I think your computer may be just to old or somethig. I had exactly the same problem when trying to play HoI DD with an old laptop.

But everything work fine at my other computer, no problem at all.
