My guesses are:
2. We Should Invoke an Omen
6. We are able to declare a new law/decision

Only one question: wich restriction there will be for passing laws as monarchies? I mean, from the screenshot some laws seem to be avaible, some others are greyed out.
And a concern: with all these new features, especially regarding characters and their interaction, will the game be balanced? My biggest concern is that we will end up having one of two kind of outcome:
a) a game with no civil wars, where everything runs smouth kind of like the old EU:R, and where the new features will look more like candies than real changes;
b) a game where everything goes insane, with a civil was every two years, because the effects of the new features will go beyond player control in few years.
Only a thought! Really excited though!

A law that issn't available to the Monarchie wouldn't be just greyed out, but missing completely!

And to your other concern: They will test it enough that it won't be heavily unbalanced either in one direction or the other (no civil war and civil wars all over) and if there are some problems then they will patch it afterwards. Don't be too sceptical about that. It will have a decent level of balance and if not players will react furiously which paradox cannot and will not ignore.
Also at this board are enough modders active so they will balance things paradox may not has.

The game was really made for these features(I mean Characters, their positions and their influence on a country) which means that the game will most likely be way more complete than the vanilla Rome was!
This issn't just a candy, this will take the game to the level paradox originally wanted it and beyond. That means they will also add new features because otherwise it would be a fraud and not an addon.
Also most addons are just candies to the fans because most of the time people won't be a game because of a new addon. Only people who already considered buying the game but didn't because they were missing something would buy the original game because of it.
That means they will also add new ideas because otherwise it would be a fraud and not a addon.
And to the DD:
I nearly thought you would let the Monarchies out^^.
It really does sound exciting and I am looking forward to this addon.
Really good ideas! Can't wait!
The ability to change from Republic to Monarchy really is awesome too! But this was mentioned in another diary.![]()
Tai-Pan said:It would be neat of the scale of the civil war was connected to the number of disloyal characters. So if 3/6 were, the war would be significantly larger than if only 1 rebelled. It would make no sense to have three different "civil wars" at one time. Rebel Faction One = LAME. I see lots of potential for these new editions, its just to bad nothing will be balanced until the second patch.
Were the primary successors for monarchies at this time generally the oldest son of the monarch? Was primogeniture generally how the successor was chosen, or did it just sometimes happen to be the oldest son? Anyone know?
