Hi guys
Loving the game so far, however I have discovered that my empire is allowing Aliens to become the leader of my government despite the fact I haven't researched the tech, or even allowed it under the polices tab.

I have the 'creatures of the void' race pack installed.

This seems to be a bug when annexing and having separatists, I've also reported it.

No sorry, it is an ironman game. I only have the screenshots.

I don't even have the Leadership-Xenos Allowed tech yet.

It seems to be that the game just sees the support for the separatist candidate, while the other candidates don't have any actual support, they're all just part of the loyalists. He stopped getting (re-)elected after the separatist fraction went away.

Sure.

I've got the save games (before and after) I filed as a bug report on this very issue back in 1.0.2. Since that bug report got drowned in the flood of other reports and didn't receive any official notice, it is hardly surprising that it hasn't been addressed yet.

I just loaded it up and noticed that apart from name changes of the candidates it still works the same was as in 1.0.2.

How to reproduce:
  1. Load the game.
  2. Look at the election candidates, the voting rights (primary species only), and the leadership policy (primary species only). You will note that the current ruler is supported by 6 POP on the homeworld, 2 other primary species candidates are each supported by 1 POP on the homeworld, and the alien separatist scum, who isn't allowed to run based on the voting rights, is supported by 3 alien POPs, who aren't allowed to vote, and is the clear frontrunner because, well, Stellaris obviously isn't a game focused on interstellar election math.
  3. Let time run 3 months.
  4. Gasp in awe as the alien leader is elected ruler!

Just for you, ForzaA :)p) I went and did a minimal test with a 1.1.0(ed47) start. (Yes, I hate this stupid bug and want it gone. It is so immersion breaking.)

This save is from before the first election in the game and just a few days after I invaded the homeworld of a primitive species, so there are no other faction leaders of my own race to compete with the current leader calculated yet... but look who's ahead with 74% :D
