In combat with a hostile AI Empire i noticed that my Battleships were stuck in space and not engaging.
On further occasions i noticed that the engine exhausts were still there however the battleships were not even firing and just stuck in space.
As you can see, the rest of my fleet has moved ahead to engage a Mining Station but the Battleships are stuck at the back.

You can see that the date has changed but the fleet is still stuck in space.
The battleships rejoin the fleet after and become unstuck after combat.
Since the battleships represent the majority of the firepower of my fleet, it has led to many engagements where i have had to retreat from a fight i should have easily won.
