When I loaded up my save as Japan ironman mode where I had defeated the Soviet Union, the game set me as the German Reich instead, and I can not change it back, because Ironman

DLC's: Any that came with pre-ordering
Mods: no mods

Have not tried reproduction of bug

Unable to find save due to being saved in cloud

I would like to report the same issue (in reverse). I was playing an ironman campaign as the German Reich but the game sets me as Japan now.

DLC's: all of them, I have the FM-edition.
Mods: no mods
Version: launch (so no beta patch)

Unfortunately (from a bug finding perspective) - the various attempts I made to reproduce this behaviour met with failure (loading different ironman savegames ingame, repeated resign/reload, a.s.o.) - I'm really hoping you can provide me with some more details as to what might have happened that MAY have caused the issue.
For example; do you have multiple (ironman) save games running concurrently (ie. are you switching between games) or is this the only campaign you are/were playing. Are all of your games Ironman? Are you in the same faction? Was there anything particularly noteworthy, that you can see, about the country you were switched TO?

Same thing just happened to me in the updated (checksum f680) beta patch.

Original nation: Germany
New nation: Japan
Ironman: On
Saves: Local

I did play as Japan in a multiplayer game yesterday, so it somehow seems to have carried over the nation selection from there. (similar report here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/save-ironman-changed-my-nation.946153/). I did also start a (non-ironman) observer game yesterday, between last playing the ironman game and the multiplayer, which showed up as the "Continue" campaign option. Was in the Axis in both the SP and MP games.

I've attached the save, but it appears to have broken on load.

I did have a Japan ironman campaign running as well and if I'm not mistaking, I loaded both saves in the same session. It think it went like this:

-Started the game and I played Japan ironman mode.
-After a few hours, I switched to my other save, which is a germany ironman game that I started the day before. But when it was loaded, It suddenly switched to Japan.

So the idea that it switched because I had been playing with Japan earlier is very plausible.

Same happened to me.

Original nation: Germany
New nation: Italy
Ironman: On
Saves: Steam Cloud

That was my first cloud saved ironman. I did have some local italian campaign saves (from the tutorial).
I'm pretty sure though I didn't load those in between.

I played Italy in the tutorial, started a german cloud saved ironman without enabling steam cloud first, facepalm, enabled steam cloud and started a second german cloud saved ironman. Quit, played on the next day, quit, installed patch 1.0.1 the next day, tried to play on and stared at ... Italy.

My guess is that if you play a game, and then load another game in the same session, it overwrites the country from the first game.
It only seems to happen on cloud saves though.

I just confirmed that the mentioned workaround (loading the game with the "wrong" nation and then - without unpausing - loading the game again from the in-game menu) works for me, too.
