Sometimes when I start the game, the main menu and the background image never show up. Like this:

I am using the Field Marshal version of the game with its DLCs (Only the Sabaton Soundtrack is disabled).
So far it has happened at two different times (seemingly at random), and both times simply restarting the game has fixed the issue.

Unfortunately there's not a whole lot more I can say about this bug.

I get the same problem. The game sometimes initializes correctly but usually gives this screen. It seems that once the problem showed up it grew more common.

I reinstalled and I got the same black screen but this time when I clicked on it the menu came up (but not the background image). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
