Got a few issues, Nighty, and i dunno if they're bugs or what.

First of all, i do not use the moddir, but fully replaced the original files with your mod (i dunno if this shows any difference ingame). playing A World Tumbling as USA:

1. I wasn't able to upgrade units. Every pre-war stuff i sent to upgrade came back as pre-war stuff.

2. There was 1 fleet in which i coouldn't select individual ships because the slidebar was crazy. I found that there was 2 ships with the same name (a convoy) and that might be causing the weirdness. The only way to avoid it was to create a new unit and move away everything but the duplicated boat.

3. Paratroopers are waaaaay too downgraded. I know about the paratrooper exploit, but i think the workaround was too excesive, imho, although it is necessary. Btw, after getting the 82nd Airborne, i get the 101st, then the 101st again, and again and again (i know that it was already reported... gotta check unitnames.csv mod thread).

4. The game crashes (screen freezes) at the same time sometime during 1943. Maybe it has something to do with the US elections event or some other thing... i dunno.

Beside it, i was really enjoying the mod! Now i think that i'll reinstall HoI and the mod but using the moddir feature this time.

I found the same problem with different unit types. For sure you will easily solve the problem if you go to the units name folder and reduce the length of the problematic once. It seems that if the name of the division is too long it is not recognised as already used and is being repeated for ever.

Rgr that. I think they are working on it in the unitnames.csv mod thread. Gotta check again.

Going to reinstall HoI and Stony now and see if i can replicate the crazy slidebar i've got, and then try to fix it.

I've found the source of the "crazy slide bar" bug in one of the US fleets:

21th Transport Flotilla (Pacific) is repeated. There's the same unit in 2 different naval formations.

To anyone interested, you can fix it yourself. Just delete one of the:

division = { id = { type = 30010 id = 30020 } name = "21th Transport Flotilla" type = transport model = 0 }

...lines from the "usa" file in the scenarios folders (A Rising Sun, A Stony Road, and A World Tumbling) and that's it. No one is gonna miss that transport flotilla anyway.

So nighty about paras

Nighty about paratroopers...At the very least you can restore the single player paras back to normal! I can understand an exploit being used in MP to cheat unfairly against humans with emotions, but single player? Hell I don't even know what the paratrooper exploit IS! Is there a way to edit paratroopers to their original stats? Whenever I do something in the editor, my whole game gets messed up (I.E. I have no leaders besides the ones already commanding units when I start a game!)

I have a question... Did Stony Road succeed in make the USA AI invade something correctly? Or the allied AI's?

I have installed a second copy of the game and am wondering wether I should play Stony Road or CORE :D

Well, Stony includes scripted invasions in France, Italy and Norway . If i understood correctly, the problem is just the way events work. You may create an invasion fleet, but at this moment all created units start with 0 org. So it doesnt matter whether Allies come with 5 or 500 divisions, if you know the places (even without reading the event files you'll know it after a few months) you just have to put a few divisions there and no invasion will be succesfull.
But, and this is a big but ;) If you forgot one province and only watch the eastern front, it can happen to you that 30 or more US divisions conquer France and you only notice it, when it's too late.

Played a CORE game yesterday, but I have to admit, that I was a bit disappointed. Some events are great, but the difficulty is the same (low) as original HOI and the events don't make sense sometimes.
I kicked Soviets butt, made a bitter peace and then started to invade Bulgaria and the other states in the Balkans. Then an event fired which forced the Soviets to declare war on me
So I prefer Stony Road.
Greetings,
Lago

Hi,

Just downloaded your mod and hope that your Grofaz level will stop me from conquering the world as i did with Germany,SU, and France so far.
Just a question. Is it the toughest game to play Grofaz or do you also need to set the HOI level to v. hard/furious?
By the way ....great job nigthy.

Cheers Dragonheart

question on mods

if i install stonyroad and those other scenarios on the stonyroad website, will it mess with my original files to where i cant play the stock version anymore? or is it just another option at the beginning of the game that i can choose? and what is the difference between a "moddir" and a "standalone"?
thx

Stony Road and Shep's Tech Mod

Dear N!ghtY
Two questions:
First, would I be correct in suppoing tha the proper sequence for installing Shep's tech mod with the Stony Road scenarios would be first to overwrite the original HOI files with the Stony Road package and then overwrite with the Tech Mod file?

Second question: For the first time, I find myself having a >small< criticism of your mod, or maybe it's a criticism of the original game that you didn't change. In any case, it concerns the weather. I find that I often have to sit around for more than a week while rain and/or storms completely ruin any chance for offensives. This is true even in summer months, when my experiences of living in Europe tell me that week-long rainy spells are not all that common. Since it is hard enough to conduct offensives as it is in the Stony Road scenario, is there any way that I could tweak the weather to make it a little less unfavorable?

As always, thanks for the incredible work.

programming

im an extremely amateur programmer, and i was bored and i was wondering how i make my own scenario that i could play at the beginning screen where they have the other scenario choices? i think i kinda of know how to mess with the war entry and stuff that i saw examples of in the folders, but i dont know how to implement them and be able to make a playable scenario out of it. any help anyone could give would be extremely appreciable.
thx
