Well, it was Eisenhower (Republican) who initially sent troops to Vietnam to take over from the French, who weren't doing so good there. The US replaced the French after they were massacred at Dien Bien Phu in 1954. But it took 10 years for an official declaration of war by President Johnson (Democrat).
So I stand corrected. Both the Democrats and the Republicans start wars. And so did the Whigs and whoever was running the 13 colonies when they revolted against King George III.
Can't we all just get along...

Actually I'm playing a game as Russia and the CSA not only survived the civil war, but annexed Texas from the Mexicans, whipped the USA like a dog, and then allied with the Mexicans.

Guy, you don't understand my sense of humour. I threw in the Rodney King plea as a joke to try to show that I wasn't attacking anyone. But you completely missed it and have tried to frame your response as a partisan attack.
Both Republicans and Democrats start wars. It's not a partisan thing, it's about power. The United States likes to project its power around the world. It doesn't matter which party is in power.
It's too bad real life isn't more like this game. Then the United States could focus on building factories rather than starting wars and going bankrupt...
