Played old save as Germany with 1936 start. Noticed the game was lagging and when I joined with Italy I saw they had hundreds of full strength divisions and thousands of ships of all types. At the same time I looked at Japan and saw they had hundreds of ships in single unit fleets. Such large unit numbers didn't exist pre-update.

Made a new game as Germany in 1936 and deleted all old saves. Same issue persisted. Italy had thousands of ships and hundreds of divisions by 1940 that shouldn't be possible given their manpower and industrial capacity.

I was using console commands in both saves in order to play around with the game and don't know if that has had any bearing on the AI (it didn't seem to pre-sunflower.)

DLC: German Portraits, Poland United, and Rocket launcher.

instant.construct builds ships in 1 day ...

Does this apply to the AI as well? I know it works on your forces. Just odd because I never saw the issue when I played around pre sunflower. Did a new game today with US and it seems like Axis powers get the rapid naval expansion while allies don't. Germany, Italy, and Japan had triple the naval units of individual allied nations.

I did not experience it with sunflower but when I first play with console commands I noticed I had dozens of aircraft carriers and hundreds of BB plus others. Guess what? I was defeated by a New Zeeland fleet of 2500+ Cruisers and 1300+ destroyers. Later I realized that the command just instant builds ships and my naval spam problem was because of console command. In the same game I also fought AI fleets consisting of dozens of carriers plus others too so I guess you can play and test again in sunflower if similar happens. I don't do it because it ruined my experience. Now I only instant construct while paused. Also one more funny part about instant.construct. You can "convert" factory and military factory without regard of province size. So you can have a region that has virtually no limit of buildings. I guess the cheat commands are just that :)
