Time for me to jump off the sidelines and try my first AAR.

Let’s see, pick a big country – nah, too easy.
Pick a small country –nah, I am not that good a player J
So, I will try an in between country and pick…..

Uzbek!

I haven’t seen an attempt at Uzbek for a while so thought I would give it a whirl.

Now, have to set some rules –

1) Uzbek is a free country. So, I will only play ahead a little while so that my fellow Uzbekians (spelling?) can pipe in and affect the way we are going.
2) Uzbek is a fine Muslim country. Our goal is to make the world safe for our type of Islam, so we must convert all infidels to our faith. However, this is an expensive goal so we may have to wait for a while to try it. We cannot have too many infidels in our fine country.
3) We hate the Timurids – no particular reason, but they have too much and we want some of it. Besides, anybody who gets that big and that stupid deserves to be conquered.
4) I will not use any knowledge of the future to guide events.

Now, what style will I use….

Well, I am a statistician and on the side I am a historian and I do love the Start Trek series. So, I will play a certain character from an episode form the original series. 10 ducats to the reader who guesses who first. Once you guess whom, I will set up how I start.

Glad to see you're finally taking the plunge.

Could - it - be - Captain - Kirk? Maybe - not. Try - ing - to - write - the way - he - talks - would - be awfully - tedious. Unless - you - created - a macro - for - the - hyphens.

Good - luck- regardless.

Well since you're a statistician I'd vote for Spock. A cold calculating mind is just what the Uzbeks need to survive.

Ah yes, Khan Noonian Singh comes home at last! (Except he was a Sikh, played by a Mexican... but who's counting?)

AugCaesar: SCOTTTY - naigh, tis not the answer, but you are doing the best you can.

Storey: Spock - nope, and I resemble, err, resent that remark abour cold and calculating -- sliding rulers at 4.26 feet at
12:01:15 tomorrow.

MacRaith & Prufrock: Khan Noonian Singh - cool idea, but I would keep saying "The plane, the plane" the whole AAR, so nope.

When you say an episode, do you mean a guest star as opposed to a regular cast member?

Lord Durham - "When you say an episode, do you mean a guest star as opposed to a regular cast member?" Good catch, and yes it is a guest star and not a regular cast member.

Prufrock451 - flint is a good guess, but if I remember correctly, he was many things but not a historian. In fact, there were only three historians in the original series that I can remember.

Anyway, the guessing can continue until I get the first post up this weekend, around the moving and unpacking in my house (I just moved to a new town).

I know! Joan Collins!

Can't for the life of me remember which character she played, but I know she was in the original series at some point.

You're going to play the Uzbek Khaganate as Joan Collins.

So lots of Royal Mariages then...

:D

City on the Edge of Forever Arguably the best Classic Trek episode.

Stroph, how about Tremaine? At least that's what I think his name was. He was kind of a forerunner of Q

Joan Collins -- you want me to play my first AAR as a tramp for 400 years! Henry VI, you will either make love to me or I will take Calais from you?

Tremaine - same comment about a child. ON the other hand, I could take out China during a temper tantrum, hummmm. Nah, save that for later.
