Since I'm fairly good at history and writing, I just decided to do this and the updates might come fast or not so fast... Wish me luck!

But the title... come on, man, unless you're making a comedy, why use that phrase? :D
Thanks.

Couldn't think of any other catchy phrases, just my only 2 cents. :)

We begin with...
Chapter 1 - A Fresh Start
Part 1 - A small, brief history of Lithuania

In the far past, 10th millenium BC (after last glacial period), the first people settled in the territory of Lithuania. Over a millenium year, the Proto-Indo-Europeans (indian europeans) who arrived in 3rd - 2nd millenium BC, lived in Baltic region. There, they mixed the local population and formed the Baltic tribes. The first written mention of Lithuania is found in a German manuscript, Quedlinburg anals (Kvedlinburgo analai), written in 1009 March 9.

Later, in 1230s, the lands of Baltic tribes were united by Mindaugas, King of Lithuania. He was crowned as King of Lithuania in 1253 July 6, and in that year later, the Lithuania was initially formed. Unluckily, at the fall of 1263, Mindaugas was assassinated by his nephew Treniota, and he made a collusion with Daumantas, became the successor to the throne of King of Lithuania.

A bit later, the Germanic - Christian Crusades Livonia and Teutonic Order attacked the pagonic Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Aside from their invasions, Lithuania's territory expanded rapidly, by overtaking former Slavic lands of Kievan Rus (Kievo Rusia). In the end of 14th century, Lithuania was one of the largest countries in Europe, which included the parts of present-day Belarus, Ukraine, and even Poland and Russia.

In 1385, Jogaila, Grand Duke of Lithuania, accepted Poland's offer to become it's king, resulting in a Personal Union. At the later 1387, Duke embarked the christianization of Lithuania (Lietuvos krikštas). It was implied, that Lithuania in 1387 was the last country having pagonic religion.

After two Lithuanian Civil Wars, at the 1392, Vytatutas The Great (Vytautas Didysis) became the King of Lithuania. During his reign, Lithuania received a large number of lands, expanding it to the sea, while having state centralization. With the great co-operation of Grand Duchy of Poland, in 1410 July 15, at the Battle of Grunwald (Žalgirio Mūšis), Lithuania achieved a great victory against Teutonic Order, resulting in one of the largest battles of Europe.

After the tragical deaths of Vytautas The Great and Jogaila, the Lithuanian nobility tried to break the Personal Union between Poland.

Good luck with Lithuania! Preserve the space between the Germans and the Russians, and maybe capture some of those lands too while you're at it!

Yes, a Lithuanian Commonwealth sounds much better this time around!

Although if he goes this route... poor, poor, poor, Poland... :(
