uups, problem... ...plus another unification one...

ok, I'm playing prussia and I think I've got a problem. Typical newbie problem I guess: 1) I've got migration issues in some places 2) high revolt risk 3) for some reason there's laborers and farmers in some of my factories and when I convert them back to craftsmen and clerks they turn into farmers and laborers after a while not producing anything - why?? 4) I'm in 1847

what do I need to do?

1) everybody has migration issues, you can't control it precisely
but
2) high revolt risk not good.. check an individual (unhappy) POP, and see what is making their MIL so high

3) It sounds like you clerks and craftsmen are devolving, i.e. you are taxing them too much and they are giving up the unequal struggle & going back to the fields. Try tax below 50% for middle & upper

4) Ok, it's not too late to save the situation -
although you should get the liberal revolution soon, so you will get revolt risk regardless from that..

thanks! So that's what devolving looks like... funny though, because I taxed them with 50% exactly, cause i read somewhere that that wouldn't hurt. apparently it does than...

Well, if you haven't gotten the liberla revolution yet, I encourage you to stomach the cost and pass Censored Press--that will stop the Llib. rev. from firing. Unfortunately, the revoltrisk you're getting is most likely from the lib. rev., or you've jkust been pissing people off. ;)

As to the POPs, mty guess is that, like Heretic said they're devolving. If you tax a POP class higher than 50%, and if they have no cash reserves left, they will devolve. This means you need to reduce al your tax rates to 50% or less-even the poor rate becuase craftsmen are considered to be in the 'poor' strata.

Edit: ok, so you've been taxing them at 50% then? Well, that should be ok I think. Of course, what is causing the POps to change then? Are you certain they're devolving? If you are, try lowing the tax rates to 49% and see if it makes a difference. We're not really sure if the line is ar 50% or at 49.99% ;)

well, I installed the 1.03 patch plus Darkrenowns unification mod. speaking of which: popular unification has finally happened to me in 1850, but - - - there wasn't any unification!! All I got was the pop. unification message and then my prussia blue turning to blue. And that after I went through pains to occupy, annex and (afterwards) satelite (for BB) Germany in time. So, if you're around DR - do you know what's going on?

1.03b fixed a devovling bug that would happen when part of that craft/clerk would emmigrate, turning the ones that stayed behind into farm/labor... i suggest getting 1.03b
